Does your child love learning new things and sharing their learning? Are they in 3rd-6th grade? They may be interested in participating in the International Academic Competition. This is a national competition where students study and participate in a Jeopardy-style competition. This year’s event will be held in Waukee on Saturday, January 30, 2027.
Mrs. Robbins will be offering the qualifying quiz in her room before school on OCTOBER 27 AND NOVEMBER 3. The PTA has offered to cover registration costs for the student with the top score in each category (history, science, and geography). Other students will cover their own registration costs. All students are registered by their individual parent, and parents will need to remain with their student throughout the competition. This is not a drop-off or school sponsored event.
Mrs. Robbins will hold before school study sessions November- January, leading up to the competition on January 31. Please note that simply attending the study sessions will not be enough to prepare for the event; your child must be willing to study during their own time.
Please reach out to Mrs. Robbins with any questions. Study skills and detailed information can be found on the website. If your child will be joining Mrs. Robbins for the qualifying quiz, please add your student's name to the list below.
