For the fourth year, the York White Rose Lions volunteered for the Indoor Winter Special Olympics in bowling as lane monitors. They helped to keep the athletes focused on their bowling game and engaged in conversations with the contestants. What a rewarding experience!

York White Rose Lions enjoyed our annual Christmas luncheon with fellowship and gift giving. Thanks to the Viking Athletic Association and their servers Brittany and Kelly.

Once again, York White Rose Lions Club went above and beyond by collecting and delivering toys for the USMC Toys for Tots. The local recruiting center was in force when we delivered the toys. Marines pictured (l-r) were: Staff Sergeant Joseph Davis, Sergeant Justin Crump, Private First Class Hayden Mathena, Sergeant Benjamin Vander Zon and Sergeant Garrett Mathena. Lions pictured were: Dwight Hollenbach, Jean Gleaves and Bill Gleaves. Always a joyous time when the Lions can give. This time it's toys for the children. I also want to thank Gunnery Sergeant Monico Macahia for taking the picture.

Each year, Lions International has a peace poster contest. This year the theme was "Together as One". Our chapter had 26 poster entries from York Suburban Middle School. York Suburban Middle School Art Teacher, Molly McAuliffe, encouraged her students to participate with their ideas for a Peace Poster. The response was impressive, and every entry was inspiring. Our winners were:

1st Place: Mary Wolgamauth
2nd Place: Aniyah Ierley
3rd Place: Sheilyanis Rodriquez
4th Place: Tess McClimans

Mary's first place poster will advance to the District level. We also want to thank each and every student from York Suburban Middle School who participated in this contest. And most of all, we want to thank Molly McAuliffe allowing her students to participate. We couldn't have done this without her help. We can't wait for next year with this partnership between York White Rose Lions and York Suburban School District.

York White Rose President Zack Hilt presents a donation check to District Governor Doug Nace during our October meeting. DG Nace spoke of Lionism and the District projects.

York White Rose Lions helped York County Parks with their Christmas Magic lights displays. New displays needed colored lights installed and we were willing and able to help again this year.
