Summer is here and so is bike season. Thanks to the Montana DPHHS Core State Injury Prevention Program Grant we are launching Project Headstrong to provide bike helmets to children in our community. If you have a child riding around town that needs a bike helmet, please reach out.

Did you know that wearing a properly fitted bike helmet is one of the easiest ways to help prevent a traumatic brain injury (TBI)?

Whether your child is riding around the neighborhood, heading to the park, or exploring local trails, a helmet should be part of every ride. A crash can happen in seconds, but wearing a helmet can dramatically reduce the risk of a serious head injury.

✅ Wear a properly fitted helmet every ride.
✅ Buckle it every time.
✅ Set the example—adults should wear helmets too!

Let's work together to keep our kids safe, healthy, and riding for years to come. 💙

Protect Today. Thrive Tomorrow.
Because every child deserves a safe ride home.

Earlier today crews were dispatched to a semi on its side that was hauling bees. Every call is different and brings its own challenges. This was definitely one for the books.

A truck carrying approximately 250 million bees overturned, releasing millions of bees onto the roadway. 🐝👇

👉 Imagine being the first responder on this scene. 🐝👇

Fortunately, nobody was injured.

This week our locals President and Secretary/treasurer had the opportunity to attend Montana State Council of Professional Fire Fighters annual convention in Whitefish.

Conventions like these are an opportunity to strengthen our union, learn from one another, and discuss issues impacting firefighters across the state of Montana. The work that gets done here, the networking and collaborations, every conversation helps us continue building a stronger future for our members and the communities we serve.

We are proud to represent our local, bring back new ideas, and continue advocating for those on the front lines everyday.

Warmer weather and sunny days are here, and crews have been taking full advantage of the opportunity to train outdoors.

Recently, crews have been focusing on timed drills, including connecting an engine to a water supply using a 2 1/2-inch hose line for fireground operations. These evolutions help build speed, efficiency, and teamwork under pressure.

We are committed to continuously training and sharpening our skills so we can better serve and protect our community.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the wonderful moms in our lives.

We also want to wish a special Happy Mother’s Day to all the incredible moms in the fire service.

To the women who answer the call at work and at home—thank you. Your strength, compassion, sacrifice, and leadership inspire those around you every single day. Whether you’re responding to emergencies, mentoring your crew, or showing up for your families after long shifts, you do it all with courage and heart.

Today we celebrate the firefighter moms, paramedic moms, stepmoms, grandmothers, and mother figures who continue to serve their communities while raising the next generation. Your dedication does not go unnoticed.

Wishing you a safe, relaxing, and well-deserved Mother’s Day.

❤️
