News about Brandon:
This is where I will be posting updates.
Two weeks before thanksgiving Brandon traveled to Miami to a facility called Body Science for treatment. We gained a lot of knowledge they found a few things they want treated. He has BPA toxins off the charts and have a strict diet to follow now, to rid toxins and just for good health. He is going to Tennessee on the 26th for a SOT treatment on the 29th to treat the Lyme infection Body Science discovered he also has. (SOT- A patient’s blood is drawn to obtain circulating tumor cells, viruses, or Lyme bacteria. The blood is sent to a lab and the SOT is created. The SOT is infused intravenously in a doctor’s office. Intravenous antihistamines and steroids are given immediately prior to SOT administration in order to lower the chance of an allergic reaction and tighten the vein walls to minimize the leaking of SOT. The SOT may be repeated up to 3x per year as needed. With each round of SOT, it is recommended to again test for the presence of pathogens. At some point, the infection may be completely eradicated or remain stable in quiet remission.)
He currently has 3 more SOTs to treat before he goes back to Miami.
Brandon also just had his 3 month check up at Cleveland Clinic. This time was the ALS Clinic. This entails seeing a Doctor, occupational therapist, physical therapy, speech therapy, pulmonary, and dietary.
This is what came of this appointment:
His legs are great! His arms are weaker and his mobility of his arms has changed. He can’t really get his arms above his head, his shoulders are much weaker. He cannot really move his left hand as much. He has a harder time doing tasks. He fatigues faster, but he is staying pretty steady. He has lost weight. Originally he was 235 and he is down to 190. Tomorrow he will get some vitamins and such in an iv infusion. He does this for health and energy. I give him a shot of Vitamin B12 twice a week for energy. Please be praying for his trip to Tennessee, his cousin is going to drive him down and he will get to see the grandkids as a bonus!

Brandon began with symptoms around 2019-2020. In 2020, the same time our at the time 2 year old son was going through cancer treatments, Brandon noticed something was really off with his hands and arms. He went to the doctor and they suspected Carpal tunnel. He had the surgery and he knew something wasn’t right. He never gained back complete function of his left hand and arms after the muscle was cut for carpal tunnel surgery. He began to lose mass in that hand and arm fast! After being referred to U of M, he was diagnosed in August of 2021 with ALS, or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. Some people know this as Lou Gehrig’s disease. ALS, or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord.

What is ALS? Here is an excerpt from the ALS Association. “Motor neurons reach from the brain to the spinal cord and from the spinal cord to the muscles throughout the body. The progressive degeneration of the motor neurons in ALS eventually leads to their demise.
When the motor neurons die, the ability of the brain to initiate and control muscle movement is lost. When voluntary muscle action is progressively affected, people may lose the ability to speak, eat, move and breathe.”
