The Jackson County Jackals recently wrapped up their fourth season of racing. We could not be more proud of our student athletes and the development of this program. Highlights of this season saw athletes achieving personal bests, developing relationships with their teammates and those of the racing communities, and growth in their confidence, riding skills and mental stamina for the sport. We are making gains year after year and we continue to be encouraged by the participation and support of leadership, families and the fantastic community of Jackson County.

The Jackals wish to acknowledge the local businesses who have helped make our pedals spin this season. There are many youth activities that our community's businesses can support and we continue to be grateful for those that have chosen to join up with our organization. Thank you to Myer's RVs who joined our efforts this season and BBU Services, Blue Heron Landing, Lewis Excavating, Workman Construction, Custom Detail and Constellium that have been part of the Jackal crew from its inception. Your commitment to our program has been integral in providing opportunities for the kids to get out and show their talents across the racing circuit of West Virginia.

We encourage our audience to show their appreciation by keeping them top of mind and recommending them when you and your networks are in need. Let's keep the small businesses of Jackson County thriving alongside the activities and programs they proudly support!

A few Jackals attended the 2025 NICA Eastern Regionals. The event brought together 11 states for a race for high school althetes and adventure course. Tyler delivered a strong performance, staying in the top 10 for most of the race before finishing 14th following a crash.

The Jackals raced at Grand Vue this past weekend. I can’t believe the season is already over. This new venue was fast and fun. The race didn’t go as planned with a caution during the middle school boys race, and the high school race being canceled due to weather.

Race results:

🥇Quinton Arthur finished 1st (8th grade)
🚵‍♂️ Jackson Wine finished 10th (7th grade)
🚵‍♂️ Zachary Burge finished 20th (7th grade)

This race completes the 2025 season. We are looking forward to regionals.

High School Season results:

🥉Tyler Wine finished 3rd in the JV3 points for the season!

Middle School doesn’t track over all points, but..

🥇Quinton Arthur won every race this year in 8th grade!

The Jackals raced at the massive Summit Bechtel Reserve this past weekend. Somehow we were blessed with yet more perfect weather. We had some good finishes:

The Jackals raced at the usually wet Big Bear this past weekend. Saturday's rain made the practice lap interesting, but the course was in much better shape by raceday on Sunday. This slower and more technical course is always a fun challenge.

🚵‍♂️ Zachary Burge (7th grade) finished 11th
🚵‍♂️ Jackson Wine (7th grade) finished 19th
🥇 Quinton Arthur (8th grade) took the win, finishing 1st
🥉 Tyler Wine (JV3) finished 3rd

Quinton and Tyler both had blazing fast sub-18 minute laps on the rocks and roots of Big Bear. Great race by all!

The 2025 NICA season opener was at Canaan Valley this weekend. Recent trail work made the trials fast, flowy, and even more fun. The Jackals put in some fast laps at Rally in the Valley.

🚵‍♂️ Zackary finished 13th in 7th grade in his first race ever!
🥉Tyler finished 3rd in a massive JV3 class with 62 racers!
🥇 Quinton put in a blazing fast lap time of 27:44 to take 1st in 8th grade!

Come to the Try-It tomorrow. Anyone entering into 6th-12th grade next school year can join. Everyone rides and/or races (no cuts). Loaner bikes will be available tomorrow to learn some of the basic mountain biking skills.

We will have loaner bikes at this try it event. Come try trail riding, and learn about the team. No cuts. Everyone rides/races.
