WELL IT APPEARS THERE IS A P.S. TO OUR BABY BELGIAN'S STORY:

Being the tender age of 8 mos, we were concerned about the c**t being alone during his 30 day quarantine. So when we saw the kill pen post that only 4 horses hadn't been saved, and sadly their pen time would expire tomorrow, they would go back to their dealer with two options: Slaughter in Mexico, or get dragged to yet another auction.

As luck would have it, one of the four was a match for our boy, a yearling grade mare, perfect for companionship and a playmate too!
Our shipper had to postpone the pickup, which would have meant the c**t would have arrived today, and we would have lost the chance to have a friend.
Because of that delay, the mare will slip right on the trailer and tag along!
Speaking of tagging along, a pathetic older, funky, dwarfish mini named Teddy caught our eye. His owners sent him to auction with a note that simply read, "Old and had foundered, drives and rides, not for beginners." We still had the shipper and did not have the heart to turn our back on him.
And so, forlorn as he was, now Teddy gets his freedom too!

We hope you can spread the word that we need $750 for the yearling and $550 for "Grandpa Teddy."

Little fall photo shoot with our 4 YRO Morgan LESTER. He stands just under 14HH but still has a little growing to do. Very sweet with people, has a bit of a napoleon complex when turned out with other horses. Has done great under saddle so far, and he came from Amish breeders so we have hopes he knows how to drive too. He is a registered Morgan (Lester is not his papered name). He’s very close to being ready for adoption!!!

Dear friends,
THIS 8-month-old Belgian c**t is currently in Western Pennsylvania and had been slated to be sent out of the country by his dealer, destined to be slaughtered for human consumption, if no one stepped up to save him.

Thanks to the incredible help of our supporters and everyone who paid a fee for our Joe Sprano Clinic (which Joe donated back to GER!) this past weekend, we raised the money needed for the c**t's bail.
Leaving us with $2,500 left to fundraise for.

The remaining $2,500 fundraising goal will help cover;
• Transport from Western Pennsylvania to Vermont
• Required paperwork and transportation requirements for crossing multiple state lines
• Veterinary intake examination
• Vaccinations, hoof trim, worming cycles, microchipping, and any other veterinary needs.
*We are hoping both testicles have dropped so we can geld him at our annual free castration clinic at the end of this month,
• 30 days of quarantine and care
• Feed, daily care, and everything this young horse needs as he begins his new life.

We just paid for this Belgian weanling!!! Couldn’t stand to see an equine with his whole life ahead of him ship. His bail was $875.00, we are really hoping we can raise the money to cover his trip here, so we can get this guy on some mare and foal asap.

DIESEL!!! He is a 4 YRO gelding standing at 15 HH. One of our more recent intakes, was surrendered a couple weeks ago. He was well taken care of, just too much horse for her at this point in life. She didn’t want to sell him and potentially get lost into the pipeline. Instead she chose the security of GER so no matter what happens he will always have a place to call home.

We’ve had him under saddle twice and he’s done great, still has some growing to do. But has a great mind and eager to please. Not ready for adoption yet, but whoever gets him will have hit the jackpot!!!
