Local 2212 sends its condolences to our brothers and sisters in Agawam and to Chief Martin’s family.
Chief Martin was a tremendous friend and colleague to the WSFD.
The members of L2212 share in the sadness of the loss of this great leader and human being.

The Agawam Fire Department is deeply saddened to announce the unexpected passing of retired Fire Chief Stephen Martin on June 11 at his home in Berkshire County.

Chief Martin began his career with the Agawam Fire Department in 1982. He was promoted to Lieutenant in 1985, Deputy Chief in 1994, and Fire Chief in 2007. He retired in 2011 after nearly three decades of dedicated service to the Town of Agawam.

Chief Martin was also an original member of the Massachusetts Department of Fire Services Hazardous Materials Response Team, District 4.

We extend our deepest condolences to Chief Martin’s family, friends, and all who had the privilege of serving alongside him. His commitment to the fire service and the community will not be forgotten.
