Yesterday afternoon at 5:06 PM, Station 27 along with neighboring companies were dispatched to the 500 block of Perry Street in the Folsom section of the Township for a dwelling fire, with multiple calls being received by dispatch.

Crews arrived to find fire heavy on the rear deck with extension into both the first and second floors of the home.

Engine 27 arrived on scene and quickly went to work, performing a primary search of the structure, assisting with ventilation, and throwing ground ladders. The Squad, Rescue, and Air Unit all responded and assisted with fireground operations. Crews spent extensive time opening up walls and ceilings to check for hidden extension and wetting down hot spots.

The fire was placed under control in approximately 30 minutes, and units remained on scene for about two hours completing overhaul.

Thankfully, no injuries were reported. Excellent teamwork by all companies on scene to quicken the knockdown and prevent further extension.

On May 16, at 10:14 PM, local fire companies were dispatched to the 800 block of N. Fairview Road in the Woodlyn section of the Township for a building fire investigation.

Upon arrival, Chief 67 reported smoke showing from the eaves of an end-of-row dwelling. Engine 27 secured their own water supply at the hydrant, stretched a 1 ¾" attack line, and advanced into the structure. Crews located a small fire involving an attic fan and quickly knocked it down using a water can.

Meanwhile, the crew from Ladder 67 conducted a primary search of the dwelling, which yielded negative results. Thanks to the rapid intervention, the fire was contained with minimal damage, and all units were back in service within approximately one hour.
