Jennifer could be described as a shooting star. Much like a shooting star, Jennifer's journey was short and brief, but it was purely and totally magnificent. It shined, it dazzled, it thrilled and it ruled. She was breath-taking, exciting, brilliant, beautiful and absolutely unforgettable. She was precious. She was magic and she filled our hearts with awe. It is

the purpose and desire of the Foundation For Joy to touch the hearts of cancer survivors the same way Jennifer touched ours. The Foundation For Joy is a not-for-profit organization devoted to creating simple miracles for people touched by cancer. Our inspiration comes from the Spirit and Legacy of Jennifer Joy Long (Pennington) who lived every day sharing her fabulous smile. In April 2007, Doctor's at Brigham and Women's hospital operated on Jennifer and determined the brain tumor they had found was a GBM. For the following 4 years Jennifer embarked on a Journey that in hindsight would almost seem inevitable. Throughout her time here she delighted, amazed and inspired and never was that more a part of her then while she had cancer. It couldn't be truer that she had cancer.....
but cancer never HAD her! Each day she woke with a smile and took every chance possible to share it with anyone who'd allow her. She took charge of her destiny and her strength was proven through her survival. Jennifer's compassion for other's and constant unselfishness powers our Foundation and her desire to find a reason to smile is our mission.
