Another successful Memorial Day Weekend in the books. Our members participated in several remembrance events over the weekend including the Talcottville Parade & Ceremony, Alden Skinner Camp SUVCW/NEWCWM Annual Rededication Col. T. F. Burpee’s Grave at Grove Hill Cemetery, the Franklin CT Memorial Day Parade and not to mention visiting Civil War graves across the state of Connecticut individually.

We take a moment to remember and reflect on the original members of the 14th, Civil War soldiers and all service members that have given their lives to preserve our nation.

We look forward to another active season of living history!

What a great privilege for us today to portray our unit crossing Morton's Ford exactly 160 years to the day! February 6, 1864 was the battle with the most casualties of any battle that the 14th Connecticut Volunteer Infantry was involved in during their 3 years of service. The water was deep and very cold!
