WARM - Western MA - Welcoming Alliance for Refugee Ministry WARM exists to build a bridge between the church and our city's refugees. We equip and mobilize followers of Jesus to welcome the foreigners living among us.

We also directly assist refugees with physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.

Yesterday was our last ELL class for the school year with a lesson on food vocabulary and enjoying some of those foods together. It has been an amazing school year with these ladies with so much growth that has happened in their ability to communicate. We will look forward to seeing them back with us in September! On this Eid al-Adha holiday, we extend our warmest wishes to our Muslim friends, families, and the refugee communities we are honored to serve. May this important holiday for you bring peace, hope, and renewed strength to your homes and hearts. When refugees arrive in Western Massachusetts, they are starting their lives all over again. Often, this is not the first time starting over after fleeing their home countries.

What makes a big difference in this time of rebuilding is the support of volunteers who show kindness, care, and compassion. These volunteers show up, helping them navigate their mounds of mail, sharing a cup of tea, listening to their stories, showing them playgrounds for their kids to play at and offering advice as they figure out how to navigate this new culture and city. Through this support, these families and individuals build stability and community and new hope for their lives here.

Today, we honor the strength, courage, and love of mothers everywhere — especially the incredible refugee mothers in our community who have journeyed through hardship with unwavering hope for their families.

Many have left behind homes, loved ones, and familiar lives, yet continue to build new beginnings with resilience and grace. Their sacrifices, perseverance, and love inspire us every day.

On this last day of volunteer appreciation month, we celebrate the incredible people who make our mission possible—our volunteers!!

From offering a WARM welcome to newly arrived families, to mentoring, tutoring, transporting to appointments and classes, watching children and simply showing up with compassion—YOU are the heartbeat of our work.

Because of you, refugees in our community experience not just support, but belonging. You remind each person we serve that they are seen, valued, and not alone.

Thank you for giving your time, your kindness, and your hearts. The impact you make reaches far beyond what you can see. We are so so thankful for each of you!!!
