More pictures of the cottages once some of the finishing touches were done on Saturday! But...we have more decorating to do - all the things that make a cottage a home away from home - for now the first guests will be comfortable with all they need. Beds all made, floors mopped, fresh towels, dishes cleaned and prayers lifted up for guests who come to spend time on a healing journey.

It's the most 🎵 overwhelmed time of the year...🎵

WHEN YOU THINK ABOUT THE HOLIDAYS: WHICH PICTURE DO YOU RESONATE WITH MORE?

The holidays bring such a mix of emotions for all of us. Not just because of the winter weather, the stress and busy-ness, the parties - or lack of. But the MEMORIES! and the EXPECTATIONS!! It can all seem a little too much.

Whether we had an amazing childhood or a really rough one, this time of year really brings it all back around. Memories of brighter days may bring sadness, even doubt that things can be that good again. Or we may just try to avoid remembering at all because the past was too painful and we don't want to feel it.

Thanks to Heritage Christian Church in Westerville, OH and New Hope Church in Powell, OH who do too.

Both churches had conferences this weekend on the intersection of Faith and Mental Health and invited us to be a part. It was so exciting to see leadership, congregation and the community at large show up with open hearts to hear how to help those who are struggling (themselves and others).

Maybe the greatest barrier to healing - to even the hope of healing! - is to feel unseen. To feel unseen is to feel unknown.
If you feel unseen, know that God DOES see and know you, better even than you know yourself. And will not let you languish in the darkness. Even now, He may be sending someone your way who will see and welcome you.
And if you are not one struggling in this way today, maybe you are the one He's sending. Because He sees and knows you too.
