Computers 4 Kids, Inc. Non-profit organization dedicated to bridging the digital divide in Sacramento and Yolo county. Laptops are also available.

Resources for Washington Unified School District students in West Sacramento:

Computers 4 Kids will provide computer systems to 4th-12th grade students attending school in the Washington Unified School District. This equipment will allow students to:
• Obtain equipment for improving student success and educational outcomes.
• Complete work at home.
• Build/reinforce technical skills.
• Take hybrid and online classes. Resources for students in the Los Rios Community College District:

Computers 4 Kids offers you paid internships, volunteer opportunities, and low-cost computers (desktops or laptops). What you will receive:

Desktop Computer with a single/dual core processor, Monitor, Keyboard, Mouse, and Surge Suppressor, ready to connect to the Internet. Installed software includes; Windows OS, word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation applications that are compatible with what is being used at school, Personal Virus protection along with other software necessary for computer maintenance and Internet use. Computer repair and support for as long as you attend an LRCCD institution.

Microsoft has officially launched the Windows 11 2026 Update (Version 26H2) for desktop PCs and laptops! Keeping your system updated keeps your device safe, secure, and running smoothly.

Why Update? 🤔
Security: Protects your computer against new online threats.

Performance: Includes quality-of-life improvements for search, taskbar features, and overall stability.

How to Update Safely 🛡️
Back Up Important Files: Before updating, copy your essential documents and photos to free cloud storage (like OneDrive or Google Drive) or an external drive.

Keep Powered On: Make sure laptops are plugged into wall power and desktop PCs remain turned on during installation.

Check Windows Update:

Go to Start > Settings > Windows Update.

Click Check for updates.

If ready for your device, you'll see "Feature update to Windows 11, version 26H2".

Download & Restart: Click Download & Install, then restart your computer when prompted.

Note: Microsoft rolls updates out in stages. If you don't see it right away, Windows will automatically notify you when it's ready for your device! 🔄💻🖥️

YCCA wants to make sure our community knows about a great FREE health opportunity happening right here in West Sacramento!

Yolo County Supervisor Oscar Villegas’ office has partnered with CommuniCare+OLE to bring free health screenings and services directly to West Sacramento residents.

Community members can stop by for:

💚 Blood pressure checks
💚 Diabetes/A1c screenings
💚 Basic health screenings

🥕 The Center for Land-Based Learning’s Mobile Farmers Market will also be on-site, offering low-cost fresh produce. SNAP/EBT is accepted, and customers using these benefits can receive a 50% discount through Market Match.

YCCA is happy to help spread the word about opportunities that make health services and other essential resources more accessible to families in our community.

The City of West Sacramento proudly presented Arthur F. Turner Library with a $21,000 grant from the California Emerging Technology Fund to expand the library's free Wi-Fi hotspot lending program.

This funding will increase the number of hotspots available and support ongoing internet service, helping more residents access jobs, education, government services, and other essential online resources.
