The House has passed a bill that would cut WIC’s fruit and vegetable benefit by 10%. We’re waiting to see what the Senate proposes—but families need reliable access to healthy foods now and in the future. Maintaining the benefit at its current level helps parents put nutritious fruits and vegetables on the table and supports the health and growth of women, infants, and children. Protect the full WIC fruit and vegetable benefit.

We are celebrating Governor Newsom’s signing of AB 2160—an important step toward making lactation services more accessible for California families. By clarifying Medi-Cal coverage and helping ensure families can receive support without unnecessary barriers, this law strengthens maternal and infant health across our state. By requiring Medi-Cal plans to report the number of IBCLCs they currently have in-network, it creates transparency and opportunities to create a stronger support network. Thanks to for authoring, and big thanks to all the advocates who helped make this progress possible!
