Calling All Car Enthusiasts!

Mayo Healthcare is excited to invite the community to our Annual Father’s Day Car Show on Friday, June 19th from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM!

Do you have a vehicle you’re proud of? We’d love for you to share it with our residents, families, and community members! We are looking for:

🛻 Antique Vehicles
🏎️ Muscle Cars
🚗 Custom Builds
⭐ And any special vehicle that brings you joy!

This event is a wonderful opportunity to spend time with our residents, share stories, reminisce about favorite cars, and celebrate the fathers, grandfathers, and car lovers in our community.

Some more information about the exciting things happening in the auto tech programs at Stafford Technical Center in Rutland, Vermont. They told us in the introduction to the ribbon cutting that the work that the students did this past year in the auto tech program generated revenue of over $70,000 and now they will be able to do state inspections and the students will be able to earn their Vermont State Inspection Licence. RAVE makes a contribution each year from our show profits. The programs offered at this school are such an important part of our State's future. We had some nice chats with many of the students - they are so proud of their accomplishments and they should be. Going to the tech or vocational(as they were called back in the 1970's) centers is an amazing way to get a start on a lucrative and satisfying career.

Each year the Rutland Stafford Technical Center Automotive program invites RAVE to spend a couple hours at the school and the kids and teachers bring their rides. Gives the kids a chance to show off their vehicles, their classrooms and they get to get up close to our vehicles and ask questions - a little different than attending a regular car show. They even construct the awards that are given out - voted on by folks stopping in to check everything out. The Doll House Restaurant and staff provided hot dogs and hamburgers as well. It is an event we look forward to each year and we support the programs with a donations from our show each year as well. We had some nice chats with several students. Thank you for inviting us again this year!! What a beautiful day we had for it!

*****The highlight of the day was our group getting to see the unveiling of a project the students have been working on for our club members, Jeff and Kim Metcalfe. The last 4 photos in this album show the progress. It is an early 1960's Nova wagon and we all cannot wait to see it finished. So far, they have done a fantastic job. In previous years, Kim and Jeff had the program do some paint work on their vintage camper.****

Sunday, May 31st - bring your classic vehicle and get the drivers breakfast for $5! This is now a fundraiser for a local firefighter and his family who lost their home in a fire last Friday.

FOUR DAYS! Four days until our next event at the Essex County Fairgrounds. Craft and Vendor Fair, Car Show and Bottle drive are all happening on Saturday, May 16th! The Bottle Drive and Vendor Market run from 9am-2pm. The Car Show registration begins at 9am and judging is slated to begin at 11am.

*Those bringing cars to the car show, please is the upper gate (near the nutrition kitchen) for entry!! All other vehicles, please use the main gate and infield for parking!*
