I, Jo Whipp, remember the joy of holding my babies in my arms for the first time. Each so beautiful and unique. Each held close to my heart. Each with the future in front of them. Each an amazing gift.

As they grow they do not, nor do we as parents, imagine them entering into the life and the horrors of tr@//ick1ng. But it can, and it does happen to thousands of children each year here in America.

Rather they are found online or at school or.... the results are the same. Devastation.

The child, the parents, the community, etc are all effected.

Native Americans are the least helped and the most tr@//icked. What can be done?

Awareness
Better laws for prevention and justice
Aftercare that is holistically aligned with the survivors needs

You get to choose what it looks like in your life. Do you sit on the sidelines and complain about the way things are? Or do you take a stand and choose to be the change by taking action?

It's simple. People buy. People sell. People are the Product.

Or is it?

No, it's not.

It's complicated.

Grooming, ass@ult, abvse, $elling, Buy1ng, etc can all start at home or business can be conducted out of the home. Product...ch1ldren.

Every child desires to be loved, to feel secure, to be wanted. They are vulnerable. They are easy to manipulate and to target.

When a child loses their ability to understand boundaries or learns that their boundaries are respected they will seek to do what keeps them safe, even when "safe" is not at all safe.

I, Jo Whipp, was never tr@//icked, however, I was groomed to please and avoid upsetting those that sought to expose and manipulate me. I learned at an early age to play it safe, because I knew I wasn't. I was a perfect target. I was lucky, though I did experience horrible things I was never $old.

Not everyone is "lucky". Some are coerced into a life that no one would choose.

Teaching our children safety is vital.

So what happens to those that survive "the life"?

They need to start over with: medical, trauma informed healing, education, a place to live, grow, and create a new life.

It is very common when you learn the truth about Tr@//ick1ng to feel overwhelmed. Overwhelm can lead to shutting down or freezing. When it feels like too much we often can't move forward to take action. What if, however, you could move forward by supporting an organization that is taking actions that are making a difference? What if you could donate your time? What if it was that simple?!
