Boys & Girls Club of the Greater West Plains Area

10/26/2026

📢 BGCWP WILL BE OPEN FOR A FULL DAY ON OCTOBER 30!

We know some children may choose to wear a special costume or outfit. Because our Club is an active environment where kids will be learning, playing, eating, and participating in programs throughout the day, we ask that costumes be safe, comfortable, age-appropriate, and suitable for the Club setting.

Please do not send children in costumes that include:

🚫 Blood, gore, or graphic violence
🚫 Drugs, alcohol, or inappropriate themes
🚫 Revealing or overly suggestive clothing
🚫 Masks that cover the face or restrict vision
🚫 High heels or footwear unsafe for active play
🚫 Clothing that is not appropriate for the weather
🚫 Sharp spikes, heavy chains, long ropes, or other items that could create a safety or tripping hazard
🚫 Overly bulky costumes that make it difficult to participate or use the restroom independently
🚫 Costumes intended to frighten or intimidate other children
🚫 Offensive language, imagery, or themes

Thank you for helping us create an environment where every child are safe, comfy, and having fun! 💙

💙 SEEING ABILITIES, BUILDING EMPATHY, CREATING A BETTER TOMORROW 💙

Boys & Girls Clubs of the Greater West Plains Area is proud to partner with Ozarks Independent Living to bring ImaginAbilities to our Club kids!

ImaginAbilities is a hands-on program designed to help children be aware of different abilities, develop empathy and compassion, and learn to see the strengths in every person.

Rather than focusing on what someone can’t do, we’re encouraging our kids to ask: “What CAN they do—and how can I help?”

Our kick-off party gave kids the opportunity to explore everyday activities from a different perspective. Through interactive challenges and activities, they experienced some of the ways people with different abilities may navigate the world.

These moments aren't just about learning—they're about building understanding, kindness and respect. When we teach children to look beyond differences and recognize the abilities in everyone, we're helping create a community where more people feel seen, valued and included.

Because a better tomorrow starts with kids who learn to see the best in everyone. 💙

Thank you to Ozarks Independent Living for partnering with us to make this important experience possible!

💙 Your Donation Could Be Worth 70% More to the Kids!

What if you could make a meaningful gift to Boys & Girls Clubs of the Greater West Plains Area AND receive a 70% Missouri tax credit for your donation?

Through the MO Dept of Economic Development's Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP), eligible donors can receive a 70% state tax credit on qualifying contributions to BGCWP.

That means a $1,000 donation could potentially come with a $700 Missouri tax credit. Your generosity helps provide kids with the things they need most—a safe place to go after school, warm meals, homework help, caring adults, positive activities, and opportunities to discover their potential.

⏰ Qualifying donations must be made by December 2027.

If you've been looking for a way to make a bigger impact with your charitable giving, this is it. Your donation doesn't just support the Club—it helps change the trajectory of a child's life.
