The upcoming garden is being developed in the central Ozark mountain region of Missouri and Arkansas in West Plains, Missouri.

Health Haven is a unique local grass roots effort to provide a gathering place for the community for recreation, education, and horticulture. Thousands of trees, shrubs, and plants have been planted. They are growing and multiplying. More are ready to be put in the ground.

While Jeri is recovering from hip replacement, the efforts out at Health Haven need to continue. If you have a couple of hours to volunteer each week, the maintenance would be kept up and our non-profit community garden haven will be beautiful.

Health Haven will be hosting a tree planting event this Saturday, April 10, from 10 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. in honor of Arbor Day. This event is open to the public, come help plant trees this weekend to celebrate Arbor Day!

Our Story

Health Haven Botanical Gardens is a unique and exciting Ozark regional project being created on the south side of West Plains, Missouri just off I-63. Health Haven is a non-profit 501(c)3 charity engaged with community partners to become a sustainable, regional botanical garden providing health, nature and gardening education for all.

The vision was inspired when Jeri & Don Dias conducted a regional survey and realized the need for a multi-focused nature project. The goal being to improve health, nutrition and food security through education and demonstration, help to conserve our native plants for future generations and provide a place and opportunity for members of our local communities to enjoy a beautiful space for creativity, recreation and relaxation.

This amazing site will provide multiple benefits for young and old, including being ADA accessible and an agri-tourism magnet for the region. Cooking classes, an outdoor science laboratory, entrepreneurial business opportunities, family gathering places and a meditation retreat are additional innovative aspects of the venue. There will be an outdoor amphitheater for entertainment; a Garden Store featuring quality health, garden and nature related products with an online catalog; a petting zoo and children’s nature discovery center.

Working together this vision can be realized. We’re determined to make the Ozarks shine. Uniting as a community brings purpose, hope and accomplishment. We need this. Our children and grandchildren need this. We can make this happen in the near future. Join us in something special... Health Haven Botanical Gardens... something special for everyone.
