Heart of the Ozarks United Way is pleased to invite teachers from all grade levels in the Mountain View/Birch Tree and Willow Springs school districts to apply for a Books for Teachers grant. These grants provide up to $500 per teacher to support the purchase of books that will enrich students' learning experiences and complement classroom lessons.

We will be awarding grants to at least two teachers, and the funds may be used for books that encourage reading and foster intellectual growth—such as novels, picture books, early readers, chapter books, memoirs, short story collections, and more. Please note that teaching aids like workbooks or textbooks are not eligible for funding.

We look forward to supporting educators in their efforts to inspire a love of reading in students.

Applications must be submitted before midnight on Wednesday, October 29th, 2025.

To apply, please fill out our Google Form: https://forms.gle/2qHN9bAkkjzeJUf99

Today is Giving Tuesday! You can make monthly donations to the United Way with our QR code. A little goes a long way! In a 12 month period, a $5 monthly donation might pay for a mattress for a formerly homeless person who's moving into new housing, or it might pay for two-month's worth of snacks for one child at one of our partner agency's after school programs, or it might pay for a year's worth of mileage for a CASA volunteer to visit a foster child.

With your donation, the partner agencies you can support include Christos House, Agape House, CASA, Girl Scout Hut, Boys and Girls Club of Thayer, Sadie Brown Cemetery, Mtn. View Youth Center, Willow Springs YMCA, & Samaritan Outreach Center.

Please consider a small donation to help make a big difference in our community!
