Lisa Parks, MSSDAR State Regent and Peggy Montgomery, MSSDAR State Chair of the Community Service Committee, delivered approximately 8,000 pairs of glasses to Dr. Scott Ream’s eye office in West Plains, Missouri. The eye glasses were donated by MSSDAR members around the state and collected at the conference last May.

Dr. Scott Ream is very involved with VOSH (Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity). They provide free eye exams and glasses to underserved countries and communities.

Members from the Ozark Spring Chapter met up with Lisa and Peggy for the big delivery!

Elizabeth Crosswhite, a member of the Ozarks Spring chapter, and her husband honored Memorial Day by traveling to 31 cemeteries across three states, where they cleaned and placed flowers on family graves, including those of some descendants of Revolutionary War Patriots.

The Ozark Spring Chapter joined forces with SAR Josiah Howell members and others to prepare the Mountain View Veterans Cemetery for Memorial Day. They conducted flag-raising and veterans' grave flag placement. Participants are named in picture captions. Annual Memorial Day Ceremony, Monday, May 25th, 10:00 a.m., Oak Lawn Cemetery at the Veterans Memorial, West Plains.

If you are unable to attend, please plan to pause and remember the people that served our Country so you could be free. That freedom is not free. It has been paid for by real men and women. That had a life of their own, just like you do. They shared part of that life and many gave their life for all of us. So please, in some form or fashion, Honor them this weekend. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

SAR and DAR were represented at the Military Appreciation Day on Saturday, May 16 in Licking. So many great stories from the Veterans in attendance plus a few interested in joining SAR. A great day. Lt to rt. Cindy Pirch, Garry Pirch, Mel Steele, Dale Brake, and Paul London.
