Pull up a chair and get ready to cook!

Registration is now open for this summer’s PA 4‑H Virtual Cooking Camp! Campers will participate in a hands‑on culinary journey where they’ll build kitchen confidence, explore new foods, and create a five‑course meal—one delicious course at a time. Camp will take place from July 20 to 24 from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM each day.

This engaging five‑day virtual camp gives participants the chance to prepare a different part of a meal each day:

🥗 Salad
🍝 Entrée
🍰 Dessert

Campers will learn essential kitchen skills, food safety, nutrition basics, table etiquette, and more—all while having fun cooking from home. Adult supervision is required throughout the camp.

Looking for more outdoor fun this summer? Join us for the PA 4-H Wildlife & Forestry Outdoor Challenge!

This is a fun-filled, hands-on learning experience for youth ages 8–18! It's open to both 4-H'ers and non-4-H'ers, so bring a friend for a day of outdoors fun. It will be held on July 24 at the Mill Cove Environmental Area and Education Center in Mansfield, PA.

Participants will spend the day outdoors exploring wildlife and forestry through engaging, interactive workshops designed to build practical skills, spark curiosity, and deepen appreciation for the natural world. Workshops will include Deer Aging and Antler Identification, Tree Identification and Measurement, Gamebird Biology and Habitat Management, and more! The day will wrap up with a friendly competition.

Ready to show off your artistic skills?

Register for the 2026 PA 4‑H Art, Photography, and Poster Showcase!

This exciting, expressive arts experience celebrates imagination, design, and inspiration through original artwork, photographs, and posters created by 4‑H members.

Selected entries will be pre‑judged and displayed for participants and visitors to enjoy during the Expressive Arts Event on August 15.

Get outside this summer and join us for the PA 4-H Aquatics Day Camp! 🌳🐟🌲🐟

This one day camp will be held at Hills Creek State Park in Wellsboro, PA on July 17. Activities will include learning fly casting, investigating stream health, learning about water‑dwelling creatures, seeing lake electrofishing in action, and more!

Mark your calendar for PA 4-H Animal Judging Contests!

Animal judging includes dairy, horse, livestock, and poultry judging. The contests will be held on June 16 at the Penn State University Park campus. Contests are open to 4-H'ers ages 10 and up, with national competition opportunities in many contests for those ages 14 and up.

Registration will be in ZSuite; there will be no pre-registration by a 4-H educator process this year. All participating coaches and youth must register. Reach out to Kirsten Dubbs ([email protected]) with questions.

The next Stir it up Saturdays session is coming up on February 21!

Stir It Up Saturday is a hands-on cooking adventure where 4-H youth learn to chop, mix, stir, and sizzle their way to kitchen confidence! This year's theme is healthy snacks.

Participants will learn about cooking skills, nutrition, kitchen safety, teamwork, and make some tasty treats.

The Stir it Up Saturdays series will be held over four Saturdays from 9 am to 11 am: January 24, February 21, March 21, and April 18.

The series is open to all 4-H'ers ages 5-18. To sign up, simply add the Stir it up Saturdays club to your enrollment in ZSuite. You must be in active status to sign up, so remember to reenroll first!

Drop by the Library and join Penn State Extension Master Gardeners in Lackawanna County and Lackawanna County PA 4-H for a drop in event and learn about various bird species and their habitats, and enjoy crafting your own bird-themed creations. All ages.
