Great outcome from the Kickapoo Creek Watershed Study Group discussion. The group will shift its mission to finding and applying for the grants necessary to implement the study recommendations. Thanks to FORG'S own David Pittman and Jack Myrna for agreeing to co-lead going forward.

Delighted to enjoy the Eagle Ridge Singers drum circle today and a discussion of native traditions under the pavilion at Sommer Farm on Day 3 of Kickapoo Creek Fest. The festival continues with a moon circle this afternoon and ecstatic movement, breath work and sound healing this evening.

Day 3 of Kickapoo Creek Festival started with a great breakfast and yoga by Miraspa. A reiki experience is underway and vendors are arriving. At 11 Jimi Lakota is doing a talk on native inspiration at the pavilion and there is a roundtable discussion of the Kickapoo Creek Watershed with the Tricounty Regional Planning Commission.

We are here Sunday August 10 under the Pavillion staying dry at Sommer Farm on Koerner road in north Peoria. Activities all afternoon, and a sound meditation at 730.

Many thanks to Cory Flanigan and Devpreet for a relaxing and healing gong ceremony to close out Day 2 of Kickapoo Creek Festival. A phone mic doesn’t quite capture the gongs’ resonance, the subtlety of the gong strikes and the interplay of the gong artists with nature’s night chorus.

Kickapoo Creek Festival continues today, Sunday August 10, at beautiful Sommer Farm on Koerner Road in North Peoria. Sunrise yoga has alreadT started. We‘ll be serving breakfast until 9 followed by more yoga, meditation, breath work and more. We’ll be camping again tonight and having another sunset gong ceremony, this time with Elmira and Devpreet, at 730.

Day 2 of Kickapoo Creek Festival ended strong. The last group of activities included a log check dam demonstration, a vision quest hike, and Wildlife Prairie’s live raptor show featuring a Barred Owl and Turkey Vulture. Cory Flannagan and Devpreet closed the evening by creating an amazing sonic landscape in concert with the songs of frogs and night-singing insects.

More highlights from today’s festival events. We’re winding down the workshops but come on out to camp tonight (and tomorrow) or just drop in for the Sunset Gong Meditation at 730 and the night sky tour at 930.

Such a great day thanks to the many organizations and people who come to share knowledge, give talks, lead workshops and more. We are here all night with a sky tour by Peoria Astronomical Society at 930.

Plenty of spaces for free tent campjng tonight August 9 and tomorrow August 10.

Good Morning! Today (Saturday August 9) is Day 2 of the Kickapoo Creek Festival. A full slate of events from 9AM morning yoga to the 930PM Sky tour with the Peoria Astronomical Society. There are hikes, talks, hands-on activities and opportunities to fish, canoe and kayak. All at the beautiful Sommer Farm on 6328 Koerner Road in Peoria.
