Another Endangered Pregnant Hammerhead Killed in Florida by Mark the shark. //
Let's talk about what happened this past weekend here in Florida. Mark Quartiano killed a Great Hammerhead that has a critically endangered status. Not only did he kill this magnificent creature. He killed her 35 pups... yes this shark was pregnant. As you can see pictured here .maxi is seen kissing the sharks dead young in a disgusting human display of ignorance for these creatures. needs to take responsibility for the conservation of these sharks and federally mandate their protection. This event was glamorized by and as some kind of miraculous catch when it reality the continued overfishing of Great Hammerheads can and will inevitably lead to their extinction. Please think twice before supporting fisherman's like Mark Quartiano and consider reaching out to and to revoke fishing licenses that allow fishermen to target internationally recognized endangered species.

Down the beach from where my family is right now, this beautiful hammerhead shark washed up dead. The photo gives us some clues as to what could be the cause of death. See that fishing line sticking out of the sharks mouth?? That is our likely culprit. No matter how many times it has been said, I will say it again. EVEN IF THE SHARK SWIMS AWAY, IT DOESN’T MEAN IT SURVIVES!!!

A hot debate goes on between shark advocates and fisherman, and it’s such a tough one because after spending a lot of time speaking to fishermen/women on beaches I have travelled to, I can confidently say that most of them love the ocean. They love the animals, and they truly don’t intend for something like this to happen. When asked, many will say they cut the line, because they believe the hook will quickly rust out, and they genuinely believe they are making the smarter/safer, more responsible choice for that shark. Maybe for some sharks this is the case, but for this beautiful creature, and so many like it, the fight while being reeled in exhausts them to a point that is beyond recovery. The line may be cut, the shark may swim off, and for the individual fisherman the truth of what happens to that shark is likely never known.

How do we prevent this from continuing to happen in the future? I don’t have the answer, but I do know that continuing to have conservationist and fisherman squaring off as enemies isn’t the answer. Education, understanding and working together is likely the only way forward.

CALL TO ACTION // Disturbing news of a wolf that was captured and kill€d in Wyoming has outraged animal lovers around the world. A man allegedly captured a wolf, taped its mouth shut, and then took the injured animal to a bar to show it off. After tormenting the defenseless wolf, the man then took the animal to the back and sh0t it. 💔🐺

IT IS LEGAL TO K!LL WOLVES IN WYOMING 😞

Cody Roberts allegedly ran the wolf down with a snowmobile before capturing it. The horrific incident occurred at the Green River Bar in Sublette County, Wyoming, where it is legal to k!ll wolves. However, by prolonging the suffering of the animal and allegedly subjecting it to torment as Roberts did, he was breaching hunting ethics. Roberts was fined a measly $250!!!!!!!

Four conservation and animal protection groups have sued the this week for denying their petition to protect gray wolves in the Northern Rocky Mountains under the Endangered Species Act. The petition filed in 2021 by the , , Humane Society Legislative Fund, and sought to restore federal protections to gray wolves in the Northern Rockies. The Service denied the petition.

THIS MUST END!!!!!

🚨🚨🚨TAKE ACTION! Please contact and politely tell them that a $250 fine is not enough for the killing of an innocent wolf in this manner. Charges must be pressed and justice must be served! Please call 📞(307) 777-4600. 🙏🐺

Repost from the Amazing Conservationist at.... FLORIDA BEAR 🐻 UPDATE & CALL TO ACTION!

HB 87 “Taking of Bears,” is waiting to be read on the House Floor in its amended version. We urge you to contact Governor DeSantis immediately and respectfully request he VETO HB 87 “Taking of Bears” if it passes the final House vote.

Phone: (850) 717-9337
Email: [email protected]

This bill will have significant implications for Florida's black bears, other wildlife, and our ecosystems if signed into law.

Under the current law, the Common Law Defense of Necessity allows individuals to defend themselves against wildlife. However, HB 87 expands this provision to include the defense of property while also stripping the FWC of its authority to investigate and charge individuals for unjustifiably killing bears.

Let's be clear: this is not about prioritizing bears over humans. We all value the right to self-defense and the protection of loved ones. However, existing laws already safeguard these rights.

Please go to our petition and scroll down to our most recent UPDATE for more information. Petition link in our Lintree found in our BIO section.

Posted • In 2019, between 80-100 million sharks were killed in fisheries, with 25 million belonging to threatened species. And those are just the reported ones. The actual numbers are much worse.

A landmark new paper led by Boris Worm of Dalhousie University and co-authored with the shows that while finning practices have declined thanks to more regulation, the demand for shark products is actually on the rise, leading to increased overall catches in coastal fisheries.

Shark meat, even from endangered sharks, is increasingly found in a variety of food products, and not just in shark fin soup. Shark is also often used in fish and chips, in ceviche, or as a fraudulent alternative for swordfish. It is everywhere, and most consumers remain unaware.

“On average, we see shark fishing prohibitions are the only tool that consistently reduced mortality, so we would encourage that.”— Boris Worm

Posted • Who’s the monster? We prosecute sharks in this country for being sharks. They are hunter across this globe to satisfy human greed. Fishermen only see dollars signs. Consumers are on auto pilot. Why would anyone support the killing apex predator that regulates our oceans. They just keep giving and all we know is destruction. A kind of destruction that will be our own demise. Sadly a few people die each year from shark bites, but of the millions of people in the water everyday they are not the lethal killers they are made out to be. We are. Let’s go humans we can do better, everyday we have choices. Drum lines and shark nets out Australia.
