Honestly, nothing surprises us anymore 💔but some situations are still impossible to understand.
This little old angel was left in a vet hospital to be EUTHANIZED. The vet try to explained that, despite the terrible condition of his leg, this little doggie still has the possibility of enjoying a happy, healthy, and fulfilling life. But his “owner” decided there was nothing more to do with an old dog with a leg like this, and even less with a dog with only three legs.
She left him at the hospital and, while crying, asked the veterinarian to euthanize him.
But we must ask: HOW DID HE GET TO THIS POINT⁉️⁉️⁉️
This did not happen overnight. He has clearly been suffering for who knows how long. How could anyone allow his leg to deteriorate this badly—and then decide that his life was no longer worth saving?
Can we hold the person responsible legally accountable? Under which effective animal-protection law in the Dominican Republic? And even if we could pursue a case, we currently do not have the resources to do so.
The veterinarian contacted us because, despite the painful and heartbreaking condition he is enduring, this precious boy is FULL OF LIFE, LOVE, AND JOY. He is eating, drinking, affectionate, and still finds reasons to be happy. He does not want to die—he wants the opportunity to live 💜🐾
His leg must be amputated, but three-legged dogs can live wonderfully happy and active lives. What he needs now is veterinary care and, afterward, a safe and loving family to call his own—a home filled with so much love that he will never miss the “humans” who failed him.
