Dr. Angelo Asheh, Hanley Center’s Chief Medical Officer, joined CBS 12 News and The CW West Palm WTVX for Fentanyl Awareness Day to discuss the importance of recognizing and responding to an opioid overdose.

Recovery doesn't happen in isolation. 💙

What if the same qualities that help you succeed—discipline, routine, and perfectionism—start working against you?

On this episode of The Hanley Effect, Dr. Cali Werner from the OCD Institute of Texas joins John Dyben and Rachel Docekal for a powerful conversation about OCD, anxiety, perfectionism, and mental health in athletes.

An accomplished distance runner who competed in the 2020 U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials, Dr. Werner also knows OCD personally. She shares how the pressure she placed on herself as an athlete intensified her symptoms—and how evidence-based treatment ultimately changed her life and career.

Today, Dr. Werner helps others navigate OCD and anxiety as a behavior therapist at the OCD Institute of Texas and through Athlete Rising, her practice focused on athletes.

August is Overdose Awareness Month, an important reminder that prevention can begin with a conversation.

Your child may hear about pills from friends, social media, or online, but they need to hear the facts from you. Honest, ongoing conversations can help them recognize risks, navigate peer pressure, and know they can turn to you for help.

This month, take time to start the conversation and make sure your child understands the risks associated with taking pills that are not prescribed to them.

For practical conversation tips, visit our Parent's Guide. Link in comments.
