In honor of Melanoma Awareness Month, we are proud to announce the 2026 KINNEY ART CONTEST WINNERS and celebrate ALL incredible student artists that participated☀️🎨

This year we opened submissions to accept primary student art and digital art! All submissions captured powerful messages of sun-safe behavior, reminding us all how impactful education can be at a young age.

The Kinney art contest is dedicated in loving memory of former RDK Board Member and supporter, Dr. John Kinney, whose passion for educating youth on sun safety continues to inspire our mission every day.

RDK Melanoma Foundation Board Member and Baseball Hall of Famer Mike Schmidt joined the Malvern Kings (Malvern,PA) Men’s Baseball League ⚾️ for a night of fun, education about melanoma awareness, and fundraising for RDK.
The Malvern Kings join several Little League teams who are SunSMART Communities practicing sun safety behaviors to prevent skin cancer!!

The Jimmy Buffet Tribute Band rocked Clematis by Night on Thursday, August 28. Buffet died in 2023 from Merkel cell carcinoma - a rare form of skin cancer.
RDK was on hand to spread awareness of skin cancer and provide educational resources.

We were invited by the International Yacht Brokers Association (IYBA) in Ft. Lauderdale, FL to feature our mission and sun safety focus in their association ad.

Here are a few key tips to keep in mind while cruising:

- Apply (and reapply!) broad-spectrum SPF 30+ every 2 hours
- Wear a wide-brimmed hat and UV-protective clothing
- Protect your eyes with polarized sunglasses
