We are a 501(c)(3) dedicated to enhancing the lives of children in Palm Beach County through education, life skills and peer mentoring. ⭐️

First Serve is a not-for-profit organization that uses sports to positively impact the lives of at-risk youth by providing sports instruction, educational programs and mentoring opportunities with law enforcement that inspire and empower them by promoting character development and life-enhancing values in a safe and nurturing environment.

We are fortunate to have a hard-working mission-driven First Serve Board. Today we are highlighting board members, Kevin and Kelsey Anderson. Kelsey serves as Treasurer of the Board, and Kevin, a tennis professional (former #5 in the world!) helps us with Tennis ProAms that fund our mentoring programs for the youth that need our investment. Thank you for all that you do for First Serve!

We are proud to present our new First Serve Leader and Site Supervisor, Aswand Cruickshank!

Aswand leads First Serve’s West Palm Beach Mentor Team as they work to enrich the lives of young students through our exciting new partnership with The Center for Creative Education.

Aswand is a Multi Published author, former Division one college football player, and educator committed to help our students thrive through innovative teamwork. By blending his real-life sports experiences with practical everyday life skills, he is able to help lead our students to become thoughtful, strategic leaders who can change their community for the better.

We are grateful to have such a hard working, dedicated, and intentional team player in Aswand, and we are excited to count him as an addition to our team!

Last weekend our partners over at The Banner Lake Club hosted our First Serve Annual Leadership Summit, where students across all of our various sites were able to meet up, grow together, and acquire new tools to change their communities!

This year’s theme was on Emotional Intelligence, a key component in our programing, and certainly a skill that is much needed in our world today. We are so proud of our incredible team, and we can’t wait to see how these young leaders will continue to make a change in our world for the better!

First Serve is excited to announce our new partnership with the Center for Creative Education!

Over the past few weeks the First Serve Staff has selected, trained, and deployed a terrific new team of high school students and young adults who are now actively serving as mentors and role models to young children in the West Palm Beach community. Each of these mentors adds such a unique and inspiring dynamic to the program and we are already seeing the positive impact of their work with the children!

We are extremely proud to partner with such an incredible organization, and we can’t wait to see all the good that comes from it!

Wishing a very Happy Birthday to our First Serve President, Cynthia Kanai!

Cynthia, your passion, dedication, and genuine care for the children we serve is present at every moment—whether you are right in front of a child, reading a book, asking a thoughtful question, or providing some wonderful snacks, or behind the scenes, making sure the kids have all the resources we can give them (including snacks, which you also probably made), your thoughtfulness is evident in all you do. We are so happy to celebrate you today!
