Annie Ruth Nelson, Roosevelt High School Class of 1960, reflects on her experience growing up in West Palm Beach during a time when community ties ran deep and people truly looked out for one another. She speaks on the continued impact of her time at Roosevelt High — where friendships spanned generations, teachers were influential and students were supported across academics, arts, and extracurricular life.

That legacy is part of the broader history now being preserved and elevated through the African American Museum & Research Library (AAMRL) project.
