We are at a loss here.

Lucky has been anything but lucky when it comes to finding a home. She has never shown an ounce of human aggression, and once she’s comfortable, she absolutely loves playing with other dogs. But getting to that point takes time. In a new environment, she may hide under a bed or behind a couch for weeks.

Can you blame her?

Lucky went viral as a stray dog in Miami when a man was filmed waving a machete at her in a mobile home park. Lots of people said they wanted to help. We were the ones who showed up.

Now it’s just her, us, and our budget going toward dogsitting instead of saving more dogs because we can’t find someone willing to give her the chance she deserves.

The Lucky we know gently stands on her hind legs to give hugs and spends hours playing with her husky friends in open play.

She needs either an only-dog home or someone who understands that trust takes time. Once she feels safe, she’s a completely different dog.

Lucky is about 2 years old, spayed, vaccinated, and waiting for someone to see past her fear.

If you can’t foster or adopt, please consider donating toward her dogsitting costs.

One of our dogs, Bear, was left at a daycare/boarding facility by his adopter. Thankfully the facility contacted us and is being incredibly kind by holding him until we can make arrangements.

Right now, our focus is not on the circumstances. Our focus is on Bear.

Bear is a senior dog and needs a foster placement as soon as possible. If you are able to foster, or know someone who can, please send us a message.

For fellow rescues: if you maintain a private Do Not Adopt list or verified rescue-only shared database, please message me privately. I do not wish to discuss names publicly or get involved in any defamation concerns, but I am happy to share factual information privately with verified rescue organizations.

If any verified rescues would like to help establish or contribute to a rescue-only shared resource for situations like this, please reach out as well.

Most importantly, let’s get Bear somewhere safe, comfortable, and loved.

Please share.

For anyone waiting on a text, email, application update, or return call…

Please remember…who has two thumbs and runs Rescue Dog Network largely run by herself? 😂 👍👍 - this gal right here.

The phone number on the website is my personal cell. I am the founder, CEO, foster coordinator, medical director, marketing department, director of finance, advertisement, customer service, and apparently right now the director of fun and acting physical jungle gym for my niece and nephew while on a family vacation until Sunday. I will always try to answer rescue messages between lighthouse tours, kite flying and being climbed on, but just wanted to make sure you knew you were not being ignored! I’m always thinking about each and every one of you. I see every comment, every donation, every message. ❤️ This doesn’t mean reach out to me less this week, you just might wait a little longer than usual for the reply.

Thank you for your patience🐾 And if there’s a typo…this video is a little behind-the-scenes of me while trying to put together Macie’s fundraising video, respond to fosters and adopters and more 😅

Alright everyone… we have a naming war on our hands. 😂

As of right now, the top contenders are:

🥇 Manual Transmission
🥈 Spork

Sitting at $110 donation pledge!

Bidding ends at midnight tonight, and honestly, we may have to overrule these poor puppies’ fate if those names win. 😅

Hailey and Henry are currently in second place and would appreciate your support.

Want naming rights? Pledge to donate $120 or more and comment your name suggestions below before midnight. Every dollar helps these sweethearts, and yes, we fully reserve the right to save them from a lifetime of being called Manual Transmission and Spork.

The girls are doing GREAT after a very long day! ❤️

These sisters were surrendered from a farm that no longer wanted them. Today they were spayed, vaccinated, seen by our for veterinarian for bloodwork, f***l float, ear cleaning etc, and officially started the road to their new lives.

Now they’re recovering with the love, comfort, and spoiling they deserved long before we met them.

So far, they are incredibly sweet, gentle, playful, and everything you’d hope for in a pair of young huskies. We can’t wait to continue learning more about their personalities over the coming weeks.

If you’re interested in adopting one of these girls, please submit an application at RescueDogNetwork.org.

And if you’d like to help us continue saving dogs like these, providing medical care, and giving them the fresh starts they deserve, please consider making a donation to our nonprofit rescue and following along on our journey. Not every rescue story starts out happy, but we work hard to make sure they all have the chance for a happy ending through proper medical attention and extensive adopter screening 🐾

🐾 NEW INTAKE & DOG NAMING FUNDRAISER 🐾

These girls are 6-7 month-old husky puppies who are coming to us after their owners decided they no longer wanted them. Rather than risk them being passed around from home to home like trash, thanks to a few networkers that reached out to us, we’re stepping in to make sure they get the care and forever homes they deserve. They appear to be almost entirely white huskies and may even carry the rare piebald coloring pattern. We’re still learning more about them, but they’re absolutely stunning.

Now for the important part.

They came in named Astra and Polaris.

We just…think we can find some new names to go with their new lives 😂

So for these girls, we’re considering fundraising naming rights.

The largest donation pledge gets to name one or both dogs (subject to rescue approval because I am not renaming a dog Bella, Luna, Snow, or anything offensive of course).

Fundraiser closes at the end of the day Wednesday, June 10th.

Have at it. 😎🐾
