WE HAVE SOME HAPPY NEWS TO END THE DAY! 🥹❤️

ARLO HAS OFFICIALLY BEEN ADOPTED!!!

Arlo was originally found as a stray in The Acreage in West Palm Beach. He ended up at the county shelter where he quickly landed on the urgent list. He was so terrified, so shut down, and struggling so badly in that environment that it became clear the shelter was not the place for him and they didn’t want to let him suffer.

We couldn’t stand the thought of him losing his life just because he was scared.

So we pulled him. Heartworm positive and all.

We got him the medical treatment he needed, and an incredible foster stepped up to give him something he desperately needed: a chance.

And somewhere along the way, that foster became his family. ❤️

Today, Arlo is officially ADOPTED!

But the most beautiful part isn’t even the adoption. It’s watching the dog he has become.

The terrified, shut-down dog who couldn’t cope in a shelter is now living his best life, learning how to be a dog, experiencing love, and blossoming in ways we never could have imagined.

Sometimes the dogs who seem the most broken by their circumstances just need someone willing to see who they could become.

Congratulations, Arlo. You never have to be afraid of losing your home again. ❤️

And to his incredible foster turned forever family, thank you for seeing what we saw in him.

Last week we welcomed Major into Rescue Dog Network thanks to our, no short of AMAZING, volunteer Kelly Fletchall giving us the heads up on him being at one of the highest kill shelters in Florida (Lee County) and she even offered to foster! Unfortunately, he is heartworm positive. But he is a very sweet, loving boy, playful, and everything. More information coming soon. THE HIALEAH GIRL IS SAFE. ❤️

Nobody else stepped up for her. So we did. Again. Still looking for a larger rescue to take her but I have her in the meantime.

I can coordinate the rescues, raise the funds, arrange the medical care, and take responsibility for the dogs everyone else passes over. But I cannot physically be everywhere at once.

I’m asking for ONE person to take ONE drive so I can keep saving lives. Looking for help with transport from Ft. Lauderdale to West Palm veterinarian then back to Hollywood.

Someone adopt Albus. Also known as Socks.

Remember the dog who was about to be euthanized, but had a “solid” foster lined up?

Yeah. That foster fell through.

And now Albus has been sitting in a paid dog sitter’s home for MONTHS.

I’ve spent thousands of dollars keeping this dog safe. Thousands. On a dog whose adoption fee will probably be $100–$200.

And you know what? I’d do it again. Because the alternative was letting him die.

But here’s the reality of rescue that people don’t always see: I cannot keep saving the next dog when I’m still paying for the last dog to have somewhere to sleep.

Albus doesn’t need another temporary arrangement. He needs a FAMILY.

Here’s what you need to know about this handsome boy:

🐾 Likely a Black Mouth Cur mix.

❤️ LOVES people.

👧 Absolutely adores children.

🐕 Walks beautifully on a leash… until he sees a cat.

🐈 NO CATS. He will chase them, and he’s strong!

🏡 A securely fenced backyard would be ideal. Otherwise, he needs someone physically capable of handling him when his prey drive kicks in.

He’s not asking for much. Just someone to love, a place to call home, and preferably a neighborhood where the cats aren’t constantly testing his self-control. 😂

I’m not asking you to adopt Albus so I can stop rescuing dogs. I’m asking you to adopt Albus so I can KEEP rescuing dogs.

There is another dog sitting on a euthanasia list right now, and another one in the streets, who deserves the same chance Albus got.

But Albus deserves to finish his rescue story first.

WILL WE DO IT AGAIN? 🥹🐾

Will Rescue Dog Network, one of the smallest rescues in Palm Beach County, somehow manage to save the dog AGAIN?

Well Facebook… that’s actually up to YOU.

An elderly woman recently left the country with little to no notice, leaving her dogs behind in an empty house. She asked a neighbor to feed and care for them until the house sold, and then to take them to the pound or do whatever needed to be done.

And just like that, their entire world was gone.

One of those dogs is now sitting in a shelter. He’s not eating. He’s sick with kennel cough. And we believe he’s missing the little Yorkie he came in with who may be his bonded companion. 💔

But here’s where this story could take a very different turn.

We might have an opportunity to REUNITE these two dogs and get them to an adopter with acreage, a loving home, and room for them to start over TOGETHER.

Sounds wonderful, right?

Except rescue isn’t free. There’s medical care, transportation, and all the little expenses that add up before these dogs ever get their happy ending.

I can do it. Rescue Dog Network can do this. But we are already stretched incredibly thin.

So I’m asking you something.

If I step up for this boy, will you step up with me?

Will you donate toward his medical care and transportation? Will you help us get these two dogs back together?

Because I can make the calls. I can coordinate the rescue. I can arrange the medical care, transportation, and everything else that needs to happen.

But I cannot keep funding these miracles alone.

I know we’re small. I know we take on some ridiculous rescue missions. And I know I probably say “just one more” too often. 😂

But imagine being that dog. Losing your owner, your home, your entire routine, and your best friend, all at once.

And imagine us being the reason he gets it all back.

Another tongue-out puppy! Apparently that’s the theme this week!

Please welcome Simba to Rescue Dog Network😍🦁

This little guy found himself at Lee County Domestic Animal Services, one of Florida’s highest kill-rate shelters. Thankfully their team reached out to us for help and we were happy to give him a chance!

Simba is now safe in a foster home in Ocala.

He’s neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and so far he’s been wonderful with dogs and humans of all sizes!

🚨 THREE PEOPLE. NINE DAYS. THREE HUSKY PUPPIES. 🐾❤️

That’s all we need to finish a rescue mission that’s been quietly unfolding behind the scenes.

We’re looking for THREE temporary fosters in Palm Beach County or surrounding areas who can each open their home to a 3-month-old husky puppy for just TEN DAYS!

We can’t share their pictures yet because this rescue mission isn’t finished and there are a few more pieces that need to fall into place.

But here’s what we CAN tell you:

❤️ These puppies have already been through more than they should have at their age. They are still sweet, loving and rather easy.

❤️ They legally are under Rescue Dog Network and their next chapter is already being arranged.

❤️ We just need three wonderful humans to help bridge the gap between where they’ve been and where they’re going.

TEN DAYS. That’s it. You don’t have to commit to months of fostering. You don’t have to adopt. You just have to be a safe place to land for a little while.

And when we’re finally able to tell their whole story you’ll get to say you were part of it 🥹

Someone please adopt Jet so we can go save another dog!

It really is that simple. When one dog finds their forever home, a foster spot opens. And when a foster spot opens, we get to say yes to the next dog who needs us. Literally, we have five other huskies on our waiting list right now. 

Jet is about a year old and, and he’s not only handsome but we think there actually are still a few brain cells in there!

Today Polk County was put on notice.

For some reason when we talk about Florida’s shelter crisis, we talk about Miami-Dade. Broward. Palm Beach. Orange. Hillsborough.

But we don’t talk enough about Polk County, FL.

I sat through more than six hours of a County Commission meeting just for my three minutes at a microphone because the numbers coming out of Polk County deserve three minutes of uncomfortable attention.

My goal was to make sure the Commissioners knew that in 2024, while Florida shelters collectively achieved an approximately 88% live-outcome rate, Polk County Animal Control was at approximately 58%.

That 400+ dogs and cats died in Polk’s care from causes other than euthanasia…

That more than 500 animals were recorded as lost or escaped…(?)

Because “we have too many animals” stops being an acceptable explanation when other counties are dealing with the same crisis and producing dramatically different outcomes.

Then I turned around and looked directly at the taxpayers sitting behind me.

Because they are paying for this.

They deserve to know what their money is producing.

They deserve to ask why.

And their elected officials deserve to feel uncomfortable answering those questions.

My goal was to remind the Commission of something else:

Polk County is developing a reputation it does NOT want to have.

A reputation among rescuers.

A reputation among advocates.

A reputation among people outside its borders who are increasingly being asked to clean up the consequences.

And if nothing changes?

We will make sure that reputation is known.

Not with rumors.

Not with drama.

With their own numbers. Their own records. Their own outcomes.

Because what happens in Polk County does not stay in Polk County.

Animals bred, neglected, abandoned and failed there eventually become somebody else’s emergency.

Today was a perfect example.

I entered Polk County asking its leadership to take responsibility for what is happening to its animals.

So today wasn’t about three minutes at a microphone.

It was about making sure Polk County knows:

People are watching.

We are looking at the numbers.

We are comparing the outcomes.

We are asking where the money is going.

We are documenting what happens when people ask for help.

And we are going to keep talking about it.

Polk County has an opportunity to change the story.

But ignoring it is no longer an option.

Rescue Dog Network is paying attention.

And now hopefully a lot more people are too. 🐾

Toby was saved from the euthanasia list at Miami-Dade Animal Services literally minutes before he was going to be brought back. 😔 Today, our sweet boy isn’t feeling well and we’re back at the vet running diagnostics to figure out what’s going on.

His estimate is already up to $578.90 for bloodwork, X-rays, a radiology consult and other diagnostics, but when one of our dogs needs us we don’t hesitate. We saved Toby once, and we’re going to keep showing up for him.
