Since its inception in 1995, Take Stock in Children has positively impacted the lives of over 18,000 children statewide throughout 67 counties. Over 7,500 mentors have volunteered with our program and in Palm Beach County alone we have awarded over $8 Million in scholarship funds. TSIC Palm Beach is proud to have graduated over 1,200 children considered ‘high-risk’ of drop-out, and currently has o

ver 300 students enrolled and on track for success. Clearly addressing the high school drop-out crisis, and college attainment, Take Stock in Children continues to report an unparalleled high school graduation rate of 92% and a college enrollment rate of 81%. Students are identified in middle and high school and must sign a contract pledging to remain drug and crime free, meet with their mentor weekly and maintain a minimum grade point average of 2.3 or greater. Students fulfilling their contractual obligations receive a full tuition scholarship upon high school graduation.

Last month, our 18th Annual Target Back-to-School Shopping Event brought together an incredible community of supporters, including 20 Palm Beach Schools Police Department 💙👮🎒

By shopping alongside our students, offering encouragement, and helping them prepare for the new school year, you helped create an experience they'll always remember.

One of the most rewarding parts of our mission is watching our students continue to grow long after they graduate from high school!

Recently, we had the opportunity to catch up with Take Stock Palm Beach alumna Elaine Buteau, who will be a junior at the University of Florida this fall.

This summer, Elaine is interning with Kolter Multifamily and is also participating in the First Generation Business Leaders Program at the University of Florida. She continues to embrace new opportunities, build connections, and challenge herself to grow, qualities that have helped her thrive both in and out of the classroom.

Seeing our alumni pursue their goals with confidence reminds us why this work matters. Their journeys don't end at graduation, they're just getting started.

Most people become mentors because they want to make a difference. But ask a mentor why they've stayed, and you'll often hear a different answer.

Some of our staff had the opportunity to attend the Take Stock in Children Annual Back-to-School Summit in Kissimmee, Florida, where we connected with colleagues from across the state, participated in professional development sessions, and prepared for another successful school year of serving students!

During the summit, Take Stock in Children of Palm Beach County was honored with the 2025–2026 Luminary Award in recognition of our outstanding commitment to student success and our continued impact through mentorship, college and career readiness, and scholarship opportunities. This achievement reflects the hard work and dedication of our incredible team, mentors, and community partners.

While in Kissimmee, our staff also enjoyed an evening of fellowship and team building at the Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament. It was a fun opportunity to relax, strengthen relationships, and celebrate the start of another exciting school year together!

We are grateful for this recognition and look forward to continuing our mission of helping students achieve their dreams. 🎉🏆📚
