Genealogical Society of Palm Beach County The Genealogical Society of Palm Beach County is dedicated to supporting individuals in pursuing family history research.

The library is open Tuesday–Thursday, 1 p.m.–4 p.m., and Friday, 10 a.m.–1 p.m. The Genealogical Society of Palm Beach County was organized in 1964 by a group of people interested in tracing their ancestors. Monthly meetings were held in various locations, genealogical procedures were taught, and books and other materials were shared by members. The Society incorporated in 1966 as Palm Beach County Genealogical Society.

In a previous post, Jen Shaffer, The Formidable Genealogist, talked about the new free family tree checking tool GEDminer. To use the tool, you upload a text file of your family tree file. The text file is called a GEDCOM. Your desktop family tree software and your online Ancestry family tree can be exported in GEDCOM format.
