Kids Cancer Foundation

Kids Cancer Foundation The Kids Cancer Foundation is a 501(c)(3 non-profit charity whose mission is to provide hope and support to local children and families battling cancer.

We work collaboratively with the medical team and we are able to coordinate local, state and national services with our services to ensure the needs of our children and their families are met. This coordination of education and support is critical as it has been shown to increase both a child’s quality of life and overall chance of survival. When a child is diagnosed with cancer their childhood da

ys quickly change to be filled with chemotherapy and endless doctor and hospital visits. Life not only changes for the child diagnosed with cancer but for the entire family. Doctors and Nurses work hard to cure the cancer but families need more than just medical help to get through this stressful and fearful time in their lives. This is where the Kids Cancer Foundation steps in to fill this void. With the opening of the first Kids Cancer Center, the Kids Cancer foundation will be able to fill the many unmet needs and expand their services to better serve these Little Warriors. The Kids Cancer Center will be located next to Palm West Hospital. The Kids Cancer Foundation has the dedication, knowledge and resources to assist families during this difficult time and we actively advocate for the child and family throughout treatment and beyond. These Little Warriors need Big Heroes! Help us help them fight!

What an incredible night! We were so excited to welcome so many KCF families to the Kids Cancer Center for our Kids Night Out Back to School Bash. Seeing our center filled with smiling faces as families came together to celebrate the start of a new school year made the evening extra special. πŸ’•

Six incredible weeks of KCF Summer Camp came to an unforgettable close! πŸ’™πŸŽ—οΈβ›ΊοΈ
Mr. David and his team from FAU Mobile Minds returned to inspire campers with an exciting lesson about the human brain. Campers reviewed the different parts and functions of the brain, asked thoughtful questions, and even had the opportunity to examine, dissect, and label parts of a real sheep’s brain. 🧠
After enjoying a true Western-style hot dog lunch, campers created colorful sand art and crafted special hearts that will one day brighten the lives of future KCF donors. πŸŽ¨πŸ’œ
We wrapped up an amazing summer with a sweet Kona Ice treat, celebrating the friendships, memories, and adventures made over the past six weeks.
Thank you to all of our campers, families, volunteers, community partners, and guest presenters for making this summer one to remember. Until next year! β˜€οΈπŸ€ πŸ§

The Wild West came to life at camp as campers discovered the legendary American tall tales of Paul Bunyan, Pecos Bill, John Henry, and Johnny Appleseed. Inspired by these larger-than-life heroes, each group worked together to dream up, write, and perform an original three-act tall tale. With handmade props, creative costumes, and plenty of imagination, every performance had the audience laughing, cheering, and applauding.

After lunch, the Wellington Art Society returned to help campers create their own Wild West β€œWanted” posters. From cookie snatchers to other mischievous outlaws, campers had fun designing some of the most wanted characters in the West. Keep your eyes peeled… they just might still be on the loose! 🀠⭐

🀠 Yeehaw! Campers rounded up for a day full of Wild West fun at KCF Summer Camp!
Our cowboys and cowgirls put their skills to the test during a rodeo roundup, competing in floor tic-tac-toe, co****le, musical chairs, ring toss, beach ball toss, bagging pants races, and even ax throwing. Kiki had everyone on their feet teaching line dancing as campers stomped, turned, and clapped along to their favorite country tunes. πŸͺ•
After lunch and a quick word search, Ms. Carolina and her team from Arts For Smiles helped campers design their very own cowboy hats using glitter, pom-poms, pins, and plenty of creativity.
It was a rootin’ tootin’ good time from start to finish! 🀠🌡✨

The Wild West rode on at KCF Summer Camp today! Campers rounded up a wild stampede of horses and got creative with Liz and Francesca, crafting colorful paper stallions using yarn, pipe cleaners, and a little sparkle.
After lunch, everyone enjoyed an exciting game of bingo before Ms. Linda and her friend helped campers create their own bandanas and drawstring bags to carry their treasures as they continue their journey west. Another day filled with creativity, adventure, and fun on the frontier! 🀠🐴✨

🀠 The Wild West rode into camp yesterday!
Campers saddled up and explored the frontier, learning what life was like for early settlers traveling across the undeveloped West in covered wagons. They also discovered the impact of oil boom towns and took on a hands-on STEM challenge by creating a mock oil spill and testing different materials to clean it up while protecting wildlife.
After lunch, Ms. Laura and her team from Art & Grace guided campers in creating beautiful, detailed cow portraits. We wrapped up the day by celebrating one of our campers with a special birthday party! πŸŽ‰

We wrapped up Unusual Career Week on a high note! 🎢
Co-owner Mr. Yanis from Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Wellington visited camp to share how his love of music and dance began at a young age. After a fun warm-up, campers discovered they already had the rhythm and quickly learned the basic steps of the Rumba. They even partnered up to show off their new moves! πŸ•Ί πŸ’ƒ
After lunch, campers enjoyed a game of bingo before continuing to make great progress on their LEGO challenge. We ended the day with a special celebration for one of our campers, who turned 9! πŸŽ‰πŸ’™ ⚽️

πŸ₯‹ Campers kicked off another exciting day with a return visit from Allstar Martial Arts Academy! They learned special patterns of punches, blocks, and kicks while building confidence, teamwork, and perseverance. The room was filled with cheers and words of encouragement as campers challenged one another to do their very best and never give up.
During lunch, an emergency animal technician shared stories from the field, teaching campers about rescuing and caring for injured wildlife.
In the afternoon, the Wellington Art Society introduced campers to the fascinating history of the very first jigsaw puzzle, created in the 1760s by a mapmaker who mounted a map onto wood and cut it into pieces. Inspired by this invention, campers designed their own personalized jigsaw puzzles before swapping with friends to see if they could put each other’s creations back together.
We wrapped up another fantastic day with a cool treat from Kona Ice! πŸ§πŸ’™
