"No day shall erase you from the memory of time."

Remembering all who lost their lives and all who, in striving to save others, gave their lives, 25 years ago today. Let us continue to honor them with acts of courage and hope.

Wishing a good and sweet year to all of you who celebrate Rosh Hashanah. May the new year bring you peace and joy.

The beautiful painting is by Arthur Szyk (1894-1951) and is titled "Rosh Hashanah," from Szyk's "The Holiday Series."

Hello, folks! I'd like to introduce myself:

I'm Cora Bresciano, and I'm the new executive director of the Fellowship, replacing the, let's face it, irreplaceable Sherri Gilbert, who made extraordinary things happen here for 12 years.

I hope to get to know many of you as we head into the new season; in the meantime, I thought I'd share a little about myself:

I'm originally from New York (Long Island); my whole family moved to Palm Beach County in the late '80s, and this has been my home ever since.

I have decades of experience in the nonprofit arena: For 14 years, I was the co-founder and executive director of a global-education nonprofit that connected thousands of American students and teachers with classrooms of their peers all over the world through international writing and arts collaborations.

Before that, I was the Director of Foundation & Government Relations for Florida Stage, a regional professional theatre company.

I've also taught literature and writing at FAU and at G-Star School of the Arts, and many moons ago, I was a theatrical music director and children's theatre composer/lyricist here and back in NY.

I also lecture regularly, mainly at the Osher Institutes in Boca and Jupiter, mainly on literature and myth.

I earned my PhD in Comparative Studies and my MFA in English/Creative Writing from FAU, and I hold a BS in Music Education from Hofstra University in NY.

I have two kind, talented, and wonderful adult children, and I live in a home filled with art, tea, ch*****ne, and many, many books.

The mission of the Fellowship--building bridges across faiths and cultures--is a point of passion for me, and I intend to work very hard to advance it. I hope you'll all consider joining or re-joining us as Members this year, so we can spread the light of understanding and acceptance together!

It's Membership Season! Join us for a full year of programs and events as, together, we build bridges between faiths and cultures.

Our Members make possible everything we do. From volunteer opportunities on Fellowship Friday in the fall...to our new Genesis study group in the spring...to our yearly Arts & Writing Competition for students...to our Annual Fellowship Dinner...Members support it all, impact it all, and enjoy it all.

Come be a part of the Fellowship today!

As I wind down my tenure at the Fellowship this week to retire after 12 years at the helm, I look back with love and gratitude for everyone who has supported our mission to promote mutual respect and understanding throughout the community, combat hate and unjust discrimination, and seek common ground. In this time of division, misinformation, and extreme partisanship, these goals may seem more difficult, but at the same time, are more important than ever.

I believe that the Fellowship has had a positive impact since its founding in 1993, and with the help of good people who care and speak out/stand up for others, the work will continue to build bridges and break down walls. I hope everyone reading this will join those efforts, as I will. As Anne Frank wrote, "How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world."

Thanks again, see you around.

Sherri

Congratulations to Dr. Sharon Lenchenski, who will become Rosarian Academy's Head of School in July! Sharon has served in several teaching and administrative positions since joining the staff in 2022 at the West Palm Beach school, which recently celebrated its 100th anniversary.

Sharon has regularly encouraged her students to participate in the Fellowship's annual Essay and Creative Arts contest, receiving recognition as the supervising teacher of several winning students.

We wish her all the best as she takes on this exciting new challenge!
