Seven years later, Career Ready is still showing up.

Sterling Shipp joined the program in 2019. He went off to college, built his career, and stayed connected along the way.

In his own words, Career Ready is “the only organization that I received a scholarship from that continued to reach back out every single year, even until today.”

That matters.

We want students to leave Career Ready with more than a resume or a scholarship. We want them to leave with confidence, connections, and a community that continues to believe in where they’re headed.

Palm Beach County’s future workforce took center stage July 25 as CareerReady awarded $20,000 in college scholarships and honored its latest graduates at its fifth annual Achievers of Tomorrow Scholarship Breakfast.

Students may be at the center of Career Ready, but none of this happens alone.

It happens because mentors give their time. Employers and sponsors invest in what’s possible. Parents believe in the process. Community leaders show up. And people across Palm Beach County continue to choose our students and their futures.

As Dr. Danita DeHaney shared, “You’re not walking it alone, and that’s the beauty of this program.”

From the classroom to college, careers and everything that comes next, that community continues to grow right alongside our students.

The impact doesn’t end at graduation.

Career Ready is about preparing students for what comes next, but it’s also about staying connected long after they leave the classroom.

Through mentorship, networking, leadership, community service and professional development, our alumni continue to grow while helping create opportunities for the students coming behind them.

More than 3,800 graduates. 100% graduation rate. 95% college entrance rate. $275,000 in scholarships awarded.

And that impact continues long after students leave the program.

As Tae said, “Graduation isn’t the end of our journey. It’s just the beginning.”

With a new school year right around the corner, we’re ready to do it all over again.

“Knowledge isn’t just power. Knowledge is possibility.”

McKenzie Williams stood on stage and spoke about what can happen when someone chooses to invest in a young person’s potential. Then came a moment that brought those words to life.

McKenzie received a full tuition scholarship to Palm Beach State College, made possible by the Fiesta Family Foundation.

For McKenzie, it means taking the next step in her education with one major barrier removed and the confidence of knowing an entire community is behind her.

Congratulations, McKenzie. We’re proud of how far you’ve come and even more excited about where you’re going next. 🎓

We didn’t just award scholarships, we invested in futures. 🎓

At CareerReady’s Achievers of Tomorrow Scholarship Breakfast, students who worked hard, showed up and believed in what was possible were met by a community that believes in them, too.

From individual scholarships to a full associate degree tuition scholarship, every award represents more than financial support, it represents a young person moving forward with fewer barriers and greater opportunity.
