In 1813, the mining town of Silver Hill began experiencing something that changed the town forever, eventually leading to its demise. To this day, the area is known as Gore. The darkest part of the forest surrounding the town was known as Blood Oaks. Inside... lay a stand of dead pines, known as Corpsewood. The horrors that happened here became a legend... but those who lived there wrote letters of their experiences and the things that became the stuff of nightmares. Over 160 years later, a Loyola University professor came across some of those letters and became fascinated with the darkness of Blood Oaks. His obsession led him to leave Chicago and buy his own property in Chattooga County where he and his partner built their own dark mansion and named it after the dead place inside Blood Oaks. Dr. Charles Scudder and his partner, Joseph Odom, named their own homestead Corpsewood... never knowing what the curse of Blood Oaks would do to them. Come and see the place where terror was born in this NW Georgia town...
