Working under the protection of The MWUGL of the State of Florida, Belize, Central America & Its Jurisdiction, Prince Hall Affiliated. Stafford Chapter No. 117, named in tribute to the 17th Most Worshipful Grand Master, the Honorable Anthony T. Stafford of the Most Worshipful Union Grand Lodge (MWUGL) of Florida. The Chapter was established on November 16, 2013, in West Palm Beach, Florida and rec
eived its charter on April 12, 2014, in Jacksonville, Florida. The Chapter has grown to its current membership of thirty-one (31) Sisters and fifteen (15) Brothers. We are currently working under the protection of our covering Lodge, Bishop Richard Allen No. 11. Stafford No. 117, focuses on it's original "Commitment to Excellence" in all of its activities. Community Service activities include the signature Annual Scholarship Prayer breakfast which began in June 2015 with the award of four (4) $250 scholarships. Additional community service includes quarterly visits to provide supplies to a nursing home and an education center; providing meals and personal products to homeless persons in a local park; preparing and serving a meal once per quarter to a local center that caters to hungry and/or homeless persons; and assisting the brothers in our covering lodge whenever requested. During the 2019 Annual JGC OES Grand Workshop, Sister Elaine Alvin received the "Worthy Matron of the Year" award and Brother James Patterson received the "Solomon" award. The FABULOUS Anthony T. Stafford Chapter No. 117 will always continue to demonstrate its "Commitment to Excellence" in all that we do! "The Eastern Star is the basis of the Five Degrees of the Adoptive Rite. Its lessons are Scriptural; its teachings are moral; and its purposes are beneficent. Its obligations are based upon the female who obtain its ceremonies, and are framed upon the principle that whatever benefits are due by the Masonic Fraternity to the wives, widows, daughters and sisters of Masons, corresponding benefits are due from them to the Brotherhood."
