This summer, our grantee partner VIA: Visually Impaired Advancement is not slowing down! JSF funds a matching grant to support VIA’s mentoring & job coaching programs for adults and youth who are blind or visually impaired. One of those programs offers youth (ages 10-21) pre-vocational training—helping them prepare for the workforce. Each trainee has a job coach, and internships help them learn and practice essential skills like conflict resolution or following a schedule. Watch this video for a recap of participants’ experiences this summer!

Check this out! Our grantee partner, Bender Leadership Academy, welcomed nine students to their DigitalAccess@Work program, which teaches students with disabilities about internet accessibility. ICYMI: We were thrilled to visit our grantee partner, SUNY Ulster, this spring! During our visit, the SUNY Ulster team shared updates about the President’s Challenge Scholarship initiative, which we help fund through a matching grant so that SUNY Ulster can provide mentoring and college readiness support to first-generation college-bound students.
