We know this is a long post but we feel it's important.
💔 1,467 DAYS.💔
You read that right. 1,467 days.
That's how long Rocky has been waiting for a home of his own.
On August 13, 2022, Rocky was dumped outside our door in a crate. We don't know how long he had been sitting there in the scorching Florida heat before we found him.
He was wet, panting, and terrified, his eyes wide with fear. We immediately brought him inside, gave him water, and noticed what looked like an injury to his jaw. We feared he had suffered some kind of trauma, so straight to the vet he went.
Thankfully, it wasn't an injury. His jaw is congenital meaning he was born that way.
But Rocky's emotional wounds are harder to see. He's a sweet boy, but extremely shy. He needs a quiet home without children, preferably with someone experienced with shy cats. He needs patience, time, and someone willing to earn his trust and show him that not all people are bad.
After 1,467 days, Rocky deserves to know what it feels like to be loved and wanted. 🥺
And we have to say this:
Please don't dump cats or kittens at a rescue's doorstep.
We understand that people sometimes don't know where else to turn, but leaving an animal outside puts their life at risk and places an enormous strain on small rescues like ours.
We have limited space and resources, and every cat needs food, litter, veterinary care, and love. We depend on the generosity of our community to continue saving lives.
If you can't adopt Rocky, please share his story. Maybe the person who is meant to be his forever family is just one share away.
🐾 Rocky has waited 1,467 days. He shouldn't have to wait another one. ❤️
