Florida is home to more than 4.6 million young people. They are not just the leaders of tomorrow; they are already making an impact in our schools, nonprofits, businesses, and communities today. πŸ‘§πŸ‘¦πŸŒ΄

The latest 2026 KIDS COUNT Data Book, published by the Annie E. Casey Foundation, reminds us that while Florida has made progress in some areas, there is still work to be done. Florida ranks 35th in the nation for overall child well-being, with ongoing challenges in children's health and economic well-being. The report reinforces that a child's opportunities are shaped by the strength of the communities around them, from access to quality education and stable housing to supportive families, caring mentors, and strong support systems. πŸ“ŠπŸ πŸ“š

Meaningful change begins when we invest in what helps young people thrive. By supporting education, mentoring youth, strengthening families, expanding access to basic needs, and partnering with organizations that provide safe, enriching opportunities, we can help create stronger communities where every young person can succeed. πŸŒ±πŸŽ“πŸ’«

Every child deserves the chance to learn, grow, and reach their full potential. This International Youth Day, let us continue working together to invest in the next generation, because when young people thrive, our communities thrive. πŸ‘¨β€πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘§β€πŸ‘¦πŸŒŽβœ¨

Did you know?

πŸ”Ή Human trafficking does NOT require transporting someone across bordersβ€”or even across town. It can happen within a person's own community.

πŸ”Ή Human trafficking affects every country in the worldβ€”regardless of geography, income, or age.

πŸ”Ή Trafficking is one of the world's fastest-growing forms of organized crime, generating billions of dollars in illegal profits while exploiting millions of people each year.

πŸ”Ή74% of traffickers operate within organized crime groups.

Human trafficking is driven by organized crime and strips millions of people of their freedom, dignity, and human rights.

This year's United Nations World Day Against Trafficking in Persons emphasizes the need to strengthen justice systems, protect survivors, and increase international cooperation to dismantle trafficking networks and hold perpetrators accountable. 🌍 🚨

Awareness is one of the most powerful tools in preventing human trafficking. By recognizing the warning signs, educating our communities, and supporting survivor-centered efforts, we can all help protect vulnerable individuals and work toward ending exploitation. 🀝

Collaboration leads to stronger communities.🀝

Kingdom Charitable Trust’s Executive Director, Clara Acero Smith, MBA, recently participated in Palm Beach County Community Services Department Joint Advisory Board Meeting, joining local leaders and community partners to discuss public policy, emerging priorities, and opportunities to strengthen services across Palm Beach County. πŸ›οΈ

The meeting brought together representatives from the Citizens Advisory Committee on Health and Human Services, Behavioral Health, Substance Use, and Co-Occurring Disorders Advisory Board, Homeless Advisory Board, Veteran Services Advisory Board, Community Action Advisory Board, HIV Care Council, and HHA Governance Board. Attendees received updates on Palm Beach County’s legislative agenda, learned about newly enacted state laws affecting health and human services, and exchanged ideas on initiatives to better support individuals and families throughout our community. πŸ’¬πŸ’‘

It was a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with our partners, meet new community leaders, and continue building relationships that help create meaningful, lasting impact. We are grateful to Palm Beach County Community Services for bringing together organizations dedicated to serving our community. πŸ’™πŸŒŸπŸŒ΄
