Homelessness is complicated. How someone got there — the choices made, the circumstances that collided, the systems that failed them — none of that matters in the moment when a person is struggling to stay afloat.

At The Lord's Place, we don't ask people to have it all figured out before we help. We reach. We offer shelter, support, and a path forward — no judgment, no prerequisites, just a hand extended.

One arm missing. One lens gone. And yet — perfect. A client handed us a pair of broken reader glasses with a smile and those exact words. It stopped us in our tracks, because that's the kind of perspective that reminds us why we do this work.

We're collecting donated reading glasses for our clients. We'd love ones in great shape, but honestly? We'll take your old pairs too — because our clients know better than anyone that it's not about what's missing. It's about what you can see.

We were honored to welcome the incredible team from KeyBank to The Lord’s Place as part of their 35th Annual Neighbors Make the Difference Day.

During their visit, volunteers assembled hygiene kits that will be distributed to our neighbors experiencing homelessness, providing essential items that offer comfort, dignity, and support. We are deeply grateful for their generosity, compassion, and longstanding commitment to making a meaningful difference in our community.
