When organizations come together, families benefit.

Tami Lustig, Director of LifePlanning® at Alpert JFS, joined Tzippi Rosen of Ruth & Norman Rales Jewish Family Services at the Florida Atlantic University CARD Autism Leaders Brunch on June 12.

The event brought together community leaders and organizations dedicated to supporting individuals with autism and their families. We are grateful to work alongside partners like Rales Jewish Family Services and FAU Center for Autism & Related Disabilities to expand access to resources, education, and lifelong support.

We are grateful to the Florida Jewish Journal / South Florida Sun Sentinel for featuring our event and helping to shine a light on the remarkable individuals whose experiences continue to educate, inspire, and strengthen our community.

Bringing together more than 150 survivors, family members, and supporters, the event created a space for fellowship, recognition, and celebration. Throughout the day, survivors were honored not only for their resilience, but also for the lives they have built, the families they have raised, and the generations they continue to inspire.

We are honored to help create opportunities that celebrate our survivors and remind them how deeply valued they are by this community.

Alpert JFS was one of the many local organizations who hosted an event to recognize the survivors living in South Florida at Temple Beth Tikvah in Greenacres.

Thank you to CBS 12 News for covering and helping share the stories of resilience, courage, and hope that continue to inspire our community.

Our meaningful gathering at Temple Beth Tikvah brought together Holocaust survivors, their family members, community leaders, and supporters to honor them, celebrate their lives, and reaffirm our commitment to ensuring their stories are never forgotten.

As the survivor population continues to age, opportunities to recognize their experiences and preserve their legacy become more important than ever.

At Alpert JFS, it is our privilege to support Holocaust survivors with the dignity, compassion, and care they deserve every day.

On Tuesday, May 26, 2026, Eva Weiss, AJFS’s Lead Holocaust Care Manager and Community Education Specialist, participated in a Student Awareness Day of Learning at Poinciana STEM Elementary School in Boynton Beach. This event was coordinated by The School District of Palm Beach County’s Holocaust Studies Program in conjunction with Insight Through Education.

Eva was part of a panel consisting of Holocaust survivors and second-generation educators who addressed over 70 students about the importance of Holocaust education. Eva shared information about AJFS’s work with Holocaust survivors in the local community for over 30 years. After the initial discussions, there were break-out sessions where Eva spoke with a smaller group of students, who later got the chance to share what they had learned.

At Adopt-A-Family, we know that being equipped to respond to clients’ needs in a critical moment can be a difference-maker for the families we serve. This week, our staff participated in a Mental Health First Aid training led by Alpert Jewish Family Service (instructors pictured). Through this certification, our team gained the tools, knowledge, and confidence to recognize and respond to mental health challenges with compassion and care.

In recognition of , Insight Through Education hosted a powerful podcast conversation on the impact hate, bullying, antisemitism, and discrimination can have on students’ mental health and emotional well-being.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bb61ISI1kGw

Led by Executive Director Roneet Edrich, the discussion featured Kimberly Coombs, Holocaust Studies & Jewish History Program Planner for The School District of Palm Beach County, as well as Dr. Elaine Rotenberg, Chief Clinical and Strategy Officer, and Dr. Iris Kainer, Director of Jewish Community Connections and Licensed Psychologist, both at Alpert Jewish Family Service. Together, they discussed the importance of creating safe and supportive school environments and highlighted the impact of more than 400 inSIGHT-supported programs across the district, including No Place for Hate and Words Matter, programs that teach students about the power of words, the impact of bullying, and how to be an upstander.

Through these initiatives, inSIGHT is helping empower future leaders and create more inclusive school communities where students feel seen, respected, and supported.
