For a decade, the League of Women Voters’ free, nonpartisan election guide has sat in Palm Beach County’s 20 library branches. This year it went missing — the library system blocked it, citing a state law against issue advocacy. After Stet News asked the county administrator about the ban last week, he reversed it, and the guides are already back in some branches ahead of the Nov. 3 election.

Plus: a County Commission race between two very different candidates, Trump-endorsed incumbent Sara Baxter and former state Rep. The County Commission approved a second 400-room convention center hotel in downtown West Palm Beach last week — an estimated $349 million Related Ross project that commissioners called a "no-brainer." The next day, a group of residents sued the city to block it, saying it will destroy the historic Grandview Heights neighborhood and that the city changed zoning and signed off without studying whether water, sewer and drainage can handle it.
