Holocaust Learning Experience

Holocaust Learning Experience Providing impactful learning opportunities through lessons learned from the Holocaust.

The Holocaust Learning Experience was founded when the MorseLife Health System in West Palm Beach and Boynton Beach-based NEXT GENERATIONS united to offer critical educational resources throughout the State of Florida about the lessons of the Holocaust. NEXT GENERATIONS was founded in 2004 and supported primarily by the children and grandchildren of Survivors. MorseLife NEXT GENERATIONS, a 501(C)(

3) organization, honors the most fervent wish of Survivors that caring communities everywhere confront the dangers of tolerating bigotry and hate and educate people about the dangers of ignoring the bias and prejudice toward any group of people, wherever it exists.

As part of our Living History Program, Holocaust Survivor Mary Eckstein shared her powerful story with seniors at Boca Prep International School. Speaking about her experiences as an eight-year-old living in Budapest during World War II, Ms. Eckstein offered students a deeply personal window into history.

Students listened intently to her testimony and engaged in meaningful discussion as they reflected on the lessons her story carries for today. Ms. Eckstein emphasized the importance of standing up against hatred and encouraged students to see themselves as upstanders in their communities.

Moments like these remind us of the profound impact Survivor testimony has on young people and the vital role education plays in preserving memory, fostering empathy, and inspiring moral courage.

We remember the six million Jewish men, women, and children murdered during the Holocaust, along with the millions of other victims of N**i persecution.

We honor the memory of those who were lost, the Survivors who endured, and the voices that were silenced. Their stories remind us not only of unimaginable suffering, but also of the devastating consequences of hatred, indifference, and dehumanization.

International Holocaust Remembrance Day calls on all of us to remember with purpose. To confront antisemitism and bigotry wherever they appear. To reject denial and distortion. And to ensure that future generations understand what happens when hate is allowed to grow unchecked.

May remembrance strengthen our collective responsibility to stand up for dignity, humanity, and justice.

As Hanukkah begins, we celebrate the triumph of light over darkness, courage over fear, and hope over despair.

This season reminds us that even the smallest light can shine brightly in challenging times. May we each carry that light forward, spreading kindness, compassion, and understanding in our communities and in the world.

May your Hanukkah be filled with peace, joy, and light.

Eighty-seven years ago, violence and destruction swept across Germany and Austria, shattering Jewish life and signaling the beginning of the Holocaust.

We remember the lives torn apart and reaffirm our collective responsibility to stand up against hate, intolerance, and silence.

The Holocaust Learning Experience team recently attended the Georgia Council for the Social Studies (GCSS) 2025 Conference in Athens, GA on October 23–24. It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with educators and curriculum leaders who share our commitment to meaningful, standards-aligned Holocaust education.

Next stop, Louisiana and Texas where we'll continue to build partnerships and share resources that help students learn lessons of empathy, understanding, and standing up against hate.

As the Holocaust Learning Experience continues to grow, we’re proud to support educators with orientations that prepare them to bring our impactful program to their students.

Our team partnered with school districts across New Jersey to lead teacher orientations, helping educators integrate our lessons from the Holocaust, that inspire empathy, moral courage, and action in their classrooms.

We’re grateful to these dedicated teachers for their commitment to meaningful education and for partnering with us to ensure lessons from the Holocaust continue to shape future generations of upstanders.

On October 10, MorseLife hosted Ballet Palm Beach at the Boca Raton Resort for the premiere of From Silence: A Work of Remembrance and Renewal.

Commissioned by MorseLife and choreographed by Gina Patterson, the ballet honored the events of October 7, 2023. Drawing on survivor accounts and echoes of the Holocaust, it served as a moving reminder of human resilience and the importance of standing against hate.

The event also advanced the mission of The Holocaust Learning Experience.

“Through From Silence and the vital work of the Holocaust Learning Experience, we hope to inspire future generations to stand against hate and ensure that the memory of those impacted by the events of October 7 lives on,” said Keith Myers, MorseLife President and CEO.

Update from the road! The HLE team has been traveling the country and connecting with educators nationwide.

Recently, we had the opportunity to attend and exhibit at the Georgia Association of Curriculum and Instructional Supervisors (GACIS) Conference in Athens, GA, as well as the National Forum to Advance Rural Education in SaltLake City, UT.

Each event offered meaningful conversations with educators and administrators dedicated to bringing impactful Holocaust lessons into their classrooms.

And we’re just getting started! In the coming weeks, our team will be heading to educational conferences in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Louisiana, Texas, and California as we continue to connect, collaborate, and grow partnerships that support teachers and students across the country.

We’re inspired by the commitment of education leaders everywhere who share our mission to build empathy, understanding, and respect through Holocaust education.

As Sukkot begins, we celebrate the themes of community, gratitude, and resilience. This holiday reminds us of the importance of gathering together, finding strength in one another, and giving thanks for the blessings we share.

May this season inspire us all to create spaces of kindness, welcome, and peace, both in our own homes and in the world around us.

This week, we welcomed our first class visit of the 2025–2026 school year. We were honored to host students from Meyer Preparatory School, who engaged in a meaningful lesson and had the privilege of hearing directly from Holocaust Survivor Rose Rosenkranz.

Looking forward to welcoming many more schools for impactful field trips throughout the year, as students learn the importance of remembrance, resilience, and standing up against hate.
