The Alliance for New Jersey Environmental Education (ANJEE) is seeking presentations for its 40th Annual Winter Conference to be held IN PERSON at The College of New Jersey on Thursday, January 16 and Friday January 17, 2025.

This year's threads:
Educating for a Changing Climate
Connecting with Nature
Research and EE
Field Explorations

ANJEE is seeking workshops and panel discussions for formal, non-formal and higher education teachers, with topics ranging from Pre-K through adulthood. Sessions will be scheduled in one-hour blocks. If your workshop is more than one hour long -please request 2 blocks.

We will also have space for 8-10 outdoor field experience workshops which will follow the same format as classroom presentations. Field Experiences can fall under any of the four conference threads. There is also the option to run a panel discussion.

Deadline for Submissions: November 1, 2024

Remembering Naturalist and friend, Nancy Fiske:
(From Diana Kitty Dove - former “PIT ‘76,” former Senior Naturalist, Somerset County Parks EEC and naturalists who enjoyed working with Nancy Fiske)

Thank you for sharing a remembrance of Nancy Fiske. Staff and volunteers of the Environmental Education Center in Somerset County’s Lord Stirling Park also had the privilege of working with Nancy Fiske. Some of us worked with Nancy as early as the summer of 1976 when Nancy was hired as an EEC Summer Seasonal “PIT” (Professional-In-Training.)

Nancy’s knowledge of the environment, gentle way with children and calming nature with people made her a highly effective Environmental Educator and treasured staff member.

Some of the EEC staff and summer seasonal “PITS” formed lifetime friendships and have stayed in touch through the years to the present. On April, 28, 2024, Nancy and her husband, Lamont, joined some of the former EEC staff with spouses on a fun field trip to Sandy Hook. Here are some photos of that memorable day that we spent with Nancy. Sending condolences to Lamont, family, and all who knew Nancy. ♥️
