The US has the highest maternal mortality rate of any developed nation. Congress is considering several bills to improve research on infant mortality, maternal death and pregnancy complications. Studying maternal death factors and pregnancy complications can help save lives.

This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we’re spotlighting the groundbreaking work taking place at Hadassah hospitals to advance breast cancer detection, treatment and survivorship.

Under the leadership of Dr. Tanir Allweis, head of Hadassah’s Breast Health Center for Excellence at Hadassah Hospital Ein Kerem, Hadassah is preparing to implement Mirai, an AI-powered tool that analyzes mammograms to help predict breast cancer risk up to five years in advance. Initially being introduced for research, Mirai could help pave the way toward more personalized, risk-based screening.

And innovation doesn’t stop at detection. From multidisciplinary breast care and treatment support to survivorship programs, Hadassah is committed to caring for the whole person at every stage of the journey.

Because better breast cancer care means looking beyond the diagnosis. 💗

Understanding and Combating Antisemitism Today

From politics both left and right, news sources and toxic social influencers, antisemitism is exploding. Jews are verbally attacked now in places where they have always felt welcome and are being prevented from participating in many professional organizations. We will be exploring some of the new methods of promoting Jew-hate and anti-Israel propaganda used to promote antisemitism as well as their sources. Learn what we can do to combat antisemitism in today’s new reality of an age-old problem.

Our guest speaker will be Hadassah National Speakers Bureau Chair Stephanie Z. Bonder.

This event is open to all of Hadassah Westchester and we encourage men and women to attend.
