We work to end hunger across the state of Wisconsin! Thanks to WEAU 13 News for spotlighting the $25,000 Connecting Farms to Families grant we provided to West CAP to purchase meat and cheese for its pantry. Without this financial support, neighbors in need would not find these locally sourced items on pantry shelves.

The West Cap Food Pantry in Boyceville, received a 25 thousand dollar grant through Hunger Task Force, a Milwaukee based food bank.

This week, Hunger Task Force joined partners across the community to celebrate the launch of the Summer Meals Collaborative, with 130+ meal sites across Milwaukee County where kids and teens 18 and under can receive FREE, healthy meals all summer long.

Through the Summer Meals Collaborative, Hunger Task Force and trusted partners like the team at Centers for Independence help ensure kids across Milwaukee County continue to receive FREE, healthy meals while school is out!

Jean Allen, Customer Service Manager at CFI, and Janet Grochowski, Operations Specialist at CFI, join forces to support summer meal operations, partner communication, food safety, compliance and coordination that make thousands of summer meals possible for kids each year!

Together, the pair describe their partnership as a “wonderful balance.” Hunger Task Force is proud to recognize Jean and Janet as true Friends of Free & Local!

Giannis Antetokounmpo is a champion on and off the court! We're so fortunate for his longstanding commitment to making Milwaukee a better place to live for children and families.

Through the caff.foundation, with additional support from GE HealthCare, he invested in our Mobile Market to improve access to fresh groceries for those living in food deserts across Milwaukee County. Additionally, through his foundation, area youth were given the opportunity to roll up there sleeves and volunteer at the Hunger Task Force Farm in Franklin to help cultivate fresh produce for households in need across Milwaukee County.

Thank you, Giannis, for your investment in Milwaukee. You are an inspiration and an example of how to use your platform for good!

Thank you to our friends at High Point Capital Group for showing up in a big way for our community! Last week, more than 40 employee volunteers joined Hunger Task Force to pack nearly 760 Stockboxes filled with healthy food for older adults across Wisconsin. Their commitment to giving back continued with a generous $2,000 gift to support our Free & Local mission, made possible through Osaic.

It's important to remember that many markets around the city accept EBT/FoodShare, WIC and senior vouchers to purchase fresh produce. Some farmers markets – such as the Fondy Farmers Market – even match what you spend with your EBT card, doubling your benefits when shopping with FoodShare.

Farmers market season is here, and Hunger Task Force is helping thousands of seniors access fresh fruits and veggies! 🫑🥬🥦 Our community distributions of FREE farmers market vouchers for seniors (60 and older) kicked off this week, and we've already connected over 2,300 older adults since June 1 with $25 vouchers to buy local produce at Milwaukee-area farmers markets.

Juneteenth is a day to celebrate and honor Black culture and history while commemorating the official end of slavery in the United States. At Hunger Task Force, we stand in solidarity with the Black community and are committed to fighting food insecurity and ensuring everyone has access to nutritious food. As we honor this day, we also reflect on the importance of Equity in our mission to feed people today and end future hunger.

Through Connecting Farms to Families, Hunger Task Force is strengthening hunger relief across Wisconsin while investing in local producers and rural communities.

As the recipient of a $2.5 million grant through the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection, Hunger Task Force is using 100% of grant funds to support Wisconsin nonprofit food assistance programs, helping pantries statewide stock their shelves with healthy, locally produced foods.

In Boyceville, Wisconsin, the West CAP Food Pantry received locally sourced beef, pork and cheese from nearby producers, including Ellsworth Dairy Cooperative and Burnett Dairy. For West CAP, the program means more variety for neighbors facing rising grocery costs, and these strategic purchases help keep dollars in the local economy.

Through Connecting Farms to Families, Hunger Task Force uses 100% of grant funds to support hunger relief programs across Wisconsin including West CAP which works to promote the self-sufficiency of low-income families in the rural communities of west central Wisconsin.
