đ¨ EXTREMELY OVERDUE ADOPTION RECAP đ¨
Apparently the last adoption recap was April 22. Since then, we've had 42 adoptions⌠and 129 intakes.
If you're doing the math, yes, we are aware that the numbers are moving in the wrong direction. In the time it took me to get around to posting this, kitten season kicked the door off its hinges and moved in permanently. We have taken in 129 cats since our last recap, most of them kittens, because apparently nobody informed the cats that the shelters and rescues are already full.
But let's celebrate some wins. The following cats have found homes:
Rudolph, Nala, Meredith Grey, Cristina Yang, Amelia Shepherd, Felony, Angelica Pickles, Ellis Grey, Rufus, Bethany, Hissy Elliot, Chaos, Jade, Vandal, Otis, Andy, Juniper, Pepper, Soren, Pippin, Jackson, Atlas, Derek Shepherd, Nova, Emmett, Owen Hunt, Mango, Amor, Izzie Stevens, Eskimo, Mosby, Gary, Kaino, Papaya, Tallulah, Kiwi, Alibi, Baloo, Milo, Mark Sloan, Samuel L. Catson, and Mare!
Forty-Two cats are now sleeping in beds they don't pay for, knocking things off counters they don't own, and screaming for food despite having eaten 12 minutes ago. Somewhere out there, Chaos is now somebody else's problem. Felony has secured legal representation. Samuel L. Catson is probably demanding to know why there aren't more treats in this establishment. And the entire Grey's Anatomy department has finally left the building.
Meanwhile, we have still taken in 129 cats. One hundred and twenty-nine. That is not a typo. That is a cry for help.
Kitten season is still in full force. We are happily accepting applications for adopters, fosters, and volunteers. Every adoption creates space for the next cat who needs us. Every foster home saves lives. Every volunteer helps keep this wonderfully dysfunctional operation running!!
So please adopt. Please foster. Please volunteer. Because at the current rate, I suspect there are three more litters of kittens being discovered while you're reading this post.
And for the love of all things furry: Spay. And. Neuter. Your. Pets.
As always, congratulations to all of our adopters, and THANK YOU for helping us keep the revolving door spinning, even if the cats coming in are currently outnumbering the cats going out by a truly alarming margin. We always love seeing our rescue cats turned into spoiled house cats. â¤ď¸
