🚨 EXTREMELY OVERDUE ADOPTION RECAP 🚨

Apparently the last adoption recap was April 22. Since then, we've had 42 adoptions… and 129 intakes.

If you're doing the math, yes, we are aware that the numbers are moving in the wrong direction. In the time it took me to get around to posting this, kitten season kicked the door off its hinges and moved in permanently. We have taken in 129 cats since our last recap, most of them kittens, because apparently nobody informed the cats that the shelters and rescues are already full.

But let's celebrate some wins. The following cats have found homes:

Rudolph, Nala, Meredith Grey, Cristina Yang, Amelia Shepherd, Felony, Angelica Pickles, Ellis Grey, Rufus, Bethany, Hissy Elliot, Chaos, Jade, Vandal, Otis, Andy, Juniper, Pepper, Soren, Pippin, Jackson, Atlas, Derek Shepherd, Nova, Emmett, Owen Hunt, Mango, Amor, Izzie Stevens, Eskimo, Mosby, Gary, Kaino, Papaya, Tallulah, Kiwi, Alibi, Baloo, Milo, Mark Sloan, Samuel L. Catson, and Mare!

Forty-Two cats are now sleeping in beds they don't pay for, knocking things off counters they don't own, and screaming for food despite having eaten 12 minutes ago. Somewhere out there, Chaos is now somebody else's problem. Felony has secured legal representation. Samuel L. Catson is probably demanding to know why there aren't more treats in this establishment. And the entire Grey's Anatomy department has finally left the building.

Meanwhile, we have still taken in 129 cats. One hundred and twenty-nine. That is not a typo. That is a cry for help.

Kitten season is still in full force. We are happily accepting applications for adopters, fosters, and volunteers. Every adoption creates space for the next cat who needs us. Every foster home saves lives. Every volunteer helps keep this wonderfully dysfunctional operation running!!

So please adopt. Please foster. Please volunteer. Because at the current rate, I suspect there are three more litters of kittens being discovered while you're reading this post.

And for the love of all things furry: Spay. And. Neuter. Your. Pets.

As always, congratulations to all of our adopters, and THANK YOU for helping us keep the revolving door spinning, even if the cats coming in are currently outnumbering the cats going out by a truly alarming margin. We always love seeing our rescue cats turned into spoiled house cats. ❤️

Meet Amelie & Elodie — the perfect duo 💕

Amelie is the softer counterpart. She’s a little shy at first, but once she settles in, her gentle personality shines through — and her gorgeous eyes will absolutely steal your heart. Elodie is the life of the party.

These girls have already been through more than kittens ever should. They came into rescue tiny, nervous, and sick — the kind of sick that kept their anxious foster mom worrying. Congested little noses, tired eyes, tiny bodies curled up together for comfort. Through every medication and every hard day, they had each other. When one wanted to play, the other followed. When one curled up to rest, the other was never far behind.

Now healthy and thriving, they spend their days doing what kittens do best: absolute chaos. Their favorite activity is tearing through the house in full-speed zoomies, chasing each other like little maniacs before crashing together for a nap.

They aren’t necessarily bonded, but they truly love being together and would absolutely thrive in a home where they can continue growing up side by side. Elodie brings the spice, Amelie brings the sweetness, and together they make the most lovable little pair.

After such a rough start, these girls deserve forever homes filled with love, patience, and plenty of room to run and romp.

Meet Elodie & Amelie — the perfect duo 💕

Elodie is the life of the party. She’s outgoing, playful, full of personality, and has a motorboat purr that never quits. She’s always ready to chase a toy, start a wrestling match, or zoom across the room at full speed. Amelie is her softer counterpart.

Meadow is a young mama cat who started off very shy and scared, but has made incredible progress over the past few weeks. With a slow, gentle approach, she now enjoys being petted and can even be picked up at times. When she’s comfortable, she’ll happily lean into attention and sometimes even gives that classic “happy cat” back lift when she’s enjoying scratches.

She gets along well with the other adult cats in the home and feels more confident with feline companions around her. Meadow also loves relaxing in sunny window sills where she can quietly observe her surroundings.

Buttercup is the calmest of her sister trio with a sweet little face and a gentle, easygoing personality. She’s more relaxed than her sisters and enjoys quietly observing her surroundings rather than always being in the middle of the action.

She isn’t a big fan of being held or petted just yet, but she shows her affection in her own way, often choosing to cuddle with the adult cats or snuggle up with her sisters, especially in the window hammock where she loves to lounge.

Buttercup would do best in a patient, low-pressure home where she can continue to build confidence at her own pace and feel safe while she comes out of her shell.

Petunia is a sweet, high-energy kitten with a playful streak just like her sister Lavender. She loves to run, play, and explore, and she enjoys having other cats around to wrestle and keep her company. She can also be a shy girl but gets better as she warms up to you.

One of Petunia’s favorite spots is her window hammock. She loves lounging there, watching the world go by and soaking up the sunshine. She’d do best in a calm, patient home where she can grow more confident at her own pace.

Lavender is a beautiful white kitten with bright blue eyes and a big, playful personality. She’s fast, energetic, and loves to climb and explore anything she can get her paws on.

She can be a bit of a scaredy cat at first and may run if approached too quickly, but with slow, gentle movements and patience, she does allow pets and is learning to trust more every day.

When she’s not zooming around, she enjoys cuddling with her sisters and settling in close for nap time. She would do great in a home with other cats and plenty of playtime.

🚨 WE NEED FOSTERS - DESPERATELY 🚨

We don't like making posts like this, but we're at a breaking point.

Every day, more cats and kittens need help. They're being found abandoned, injured, sick, pregnant, or simply unwanted. We want to say yes to every single one of them, but we can't do it without foster homes.

Right now, our rescue is overflowing. We have cats waiting for safe places to land, and every open foster home means another life saved.

Fostering is temporary, but the impact is forever. We provide the supplies, veterinary care, and support—you provide a spare room, some love, and a safe place for a cat to heal and grow until they find their forever family.

Without fosters, we are forced to make heartbreaking decisions and turn away animals that desperately need help.

If you've ever thought about fostering, please consider stepping up now. Even one extra foster home could save multiple lives this kitten season.

Please message us for more information or to apply. If you can't foster, sharing this post could help us find someone who can.

🐾 They need us. We need you. 🐾

**EDIT TO ADD NONE OF THESE KITTENS ARE CURRENTLY AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION!! THEY ARE CURRENTLY WITH FOSTERS GROWING BIG AND STRONG.**

⚠️Some cats arrive in rescue with a story that breaks your heart. Runa is one of them. Runa's story is exactly why we never stop advocating for spay/neuter, responsible pet ownership, and keeping cats safe indoors. Before you keep reading her bio, please know that her story is a hard one. It contains loss, neglect, and the consequences of a cat not receiving the care she deserved. But it also contains resilience, hope, and a chance for a better future. ⚠️

When Runa came to us, she was pregnant. We did not know, until she miscarried. From there she stopped eating, lost weight, and had everyone worried that we might lose her too. Thankfully, Runa went to a foster home where she was showered with love, comfort, and care. Slowly but surely, she fought her way back. The sweet, gentle girl underneath it all refused to give up.

Then came some answers to what had caused so much suffering. When Runa was spayed, it was discovered that she had pyometra. This is an infection of the uterus that can be deadly if left untreated. It was the reason she lost her babies. Also likely the reason she became so sick. Runa also was found to be FIV+, likely another consequence of life spent unprotected outdoors.

And the heartbreaking part? It was preventable.

Runa was found wearing a collar. She had belonged to someone at some point. But there were no tags. No microchip. No one came looking for her. No one stepped forward to claim her. No one got her spayed before she became pregnant and developed a life-threatening infection. No one kept her inside where she wouldn’t have contracted FIV.

This is the reality of rescue. We meet cats like Runa every day. Cats whose suffering could have been avoided if someone had simply cared enough to provide basic veterinary care and keep them safe. And for those unfamiliar, FIV-positive cats can live long, happy lives and can safely live with other cats. In fact, Runa LOVES other kitties! And like all cats, Runa should be kept indoors where she can be safe.

But this isn't where Runa's story ends. Because despite everything she has endured…the loss of her kittens, the infection, the sickness, the overall uncertainty…Runa remains an absolute angel. She is sweet, loving, and grateful for every bit of kindness she receives. She has survived more than any cat should EVER have to.

Now all she needs is someone to choose her. Someone to show her what a real home feels like. A warm bed. An always full belly. A family that won't leave her behind. A life where she never has to fight so hard just to be okay.

Runa has already done the hard part. She's here. She's healthy. She's ready. Please help us give this incredible girl the ending she has always deserved.

Don’t let Hickory’s quiet demeanor fool you—every great wallflower is just waiting for their purrfect partner, and this Feline Fred Astaire is no different.

The big production that is Rescue Life turned out to be a lot for our reserved leading man. The noise, the chaos, the competition? Enter performance anxiety—exit stage left! For now, Hickory prefers life behind the scenes. His cat tree is an excellent dressing room, thank you very much.

Loud airplanes overhead? No problem. Other cats? Always a good time. Too much time in the spotlight? He’ll take an intermission and head straight to the concession stand.

But remove the pressure of center stage, and suddenly this Tangerine Triple Threat is ready for his solo. He flops dramatically onto the floor. He performs gravity-defying zoomies. He rolls over for belly rubs (cue the standing ovation!). Move over, Juilliard. This prodigy is ready for his big break.

This talented boy just needs a quiet audience, a little patience, and the confidence that comes from finally landing a long-term gig with a companion he can trust. For a front row seat to Hickory’s adorable encore, act fast—his dance card is getting full.
