I close 2025 with gratitude, clarity, and a deep sense of grounding. Me and mine ended this year in abundance, preparation, and joy—reflecting on yet another season where we received more than we ever had. Not because everything was perfect, but because integrity stayed intact.

2025 was the year integrity paid its dividends.

Times are shifting. Old ways and new ways are competing for survival. The version of “success” we’ve been sold—the idea that personal excellence requires stepping over the collective—is poison. I’m leaving that behind. The old way of collective being is tried and true. It never disappeared. It’s been waiting on us to come back to ourselves.

Nothing in the universe exists alone.

I began this year as a MN Black Collective Foundation New Suns Fellow. Nothing is new under the sun—but there are new suns. This year taught me what happens when integrity comes full circle. I didn’t get everything right, but I stayed the course. I stuck to my guns. I didn’t fold.

And now, 2026.

None of us are getting free alone—and it’s time we stop pretending otherwise. 2026 is not about lone heroes or isolated wins. It’s about collective economics, collective being, collective community, collective movement, and collective organizations. The future belongs to those who move together. Anyone trying to hoard power, operate in isolation, or cut deals that cost the community isn’t just out of step—they’re in the way.

The collective isn’t sentimental. It’s strategic.
And in 2026, it’s the most logical move we can make.

Lesson carried forward:
The enemy has no loyalty. It does not respect or uplift anyone willing to sell out their own people for personal gain. Stop those back-room conversations with them people.

Integrity compounds.
Collective wins last.

First it was my cell.
Then it was the city.
Then it was the state.
And the galaxy is next.

Stay tuned.

Until we are all free

This Juneteenth, the Minnesota Twins asked the Founders of Until We Are All Free movement to throw out the first pitch at Target Field.

And before we stepped on that mound, we had to take a moment.
I thought about everyone who walked this journey with us.
Everyone who came home.
Everyone who fought for their life, their family, their dignity.
Everyone who believed in the movement before it had a name.

I didn’t feel alone out there.
I felt the whole community standing with me.
We don’t brag about what we’ve built with Until We Are All Free.
A lot of our work is quiet, behind the scenes, in the trenches.
But our impact is deep in this city — deeper than most people will ever know.
Being honored on Juneteenth… that was one of the rare moments we got our flowers. And I’m grateful.

Now we’re stepping into Give to the Max and I’m asking you to stand with us:

$250 gets someone a Welcome Home Kit.
$500 supports mutual aid.
$1,000 prepares someone for meaningful work.
$10,000 employs a justice-impacted leader.
$25,000 helps us unlock our full match.
We’ve come so far, but we’re not done.
If you believe in this work — if you’ve felt the impact — I’m asking you to support it.

Last night I was featured on HBO’s Last Week Tonight discussing Felony Murder — the law that took 14 years of my life.
This law didn’t just impact me. It helped build a caste system we now call mass incarceration.
We’re telling the truth.
We’re changing the story.
We’re freeing our people.

Had to pull over when I saw that cotton field. 🤍
Too much to process standing there—thinking about what was, what still is, and what’s becoming.
I picked a little, took some with me. Gonna spin it into something new. Maybe a pair of socks. Maybe a reminder.
Either way, I’m bringing it home.

📍Memphis, TN — FICPFM Q4D Retreat

What happens when justice-impacted leaders pause to rest, reflect, and reimagine? 💭
We build new worlds.

This weekend, a circle of movement builders decided to invest in ourselves — launching the first steps toward the Social Justice Coin. 💰✊🏾

You don’t have to understand technology to understand collective liberation. This is the beginning of the capital table. Because everything we need, we already have.

As one of our elders and co-founders .norris reminded us:
“If they feed us, they can starve us.”
This new world will require new tools — and we’re ready.

Thank you to for doing the work to bring us together.

The baton is in motion. 🚀

🔥 Memphis- Mane!
It’s always an honor to gather with our national family of change makers and chain breakers — to connect, rest, and strategize for what’s next. 💪🏾
Memphis, Tennessee, thank you for all your soul — you held us as we took a sacred pause to prepare for the next chapter of this movement. 🙏🏾
Much love and respect to all the founders, board members, and staff of FICPFM (Formerly Incarcerated, Convicted People & Families Movement) for bringing us together and holding the baton for our national struggle for freedom and justice.
💙 Over 60 organizations nationwide, all led by people directly impacted by arrest and conviction, coming together to build power, strategy, and solidarity.
