Puerto Rico gave me something I’ll carry for a long time.

It was an honor to represent Minnesota as the first Galaxy Leader Fellow from our state. To sit in community with visionary leaders from across the country reminded me that this moment is bigger than any one organization or any one place.

For the last several months, we’ve been quiet. Not because we’ve stepped away—but because we’ve been building. Building relationships. Building infrastructure. Building a vision that reaches far beyond what we can see in our everyday struggles.

For more than a decade, Until We Are All Free has been rooted in local organizing. Now it’s time to carry that work from local, to regional, to national. Our communities deserve movements that don’t just respond to crisis, but build the future.

I left Puerto Rico with a deeper belief that collective leadership, collective economics, and collective imagination are how we get free.

The work continues. The vision is expanding. And we’re just getting started.

Chicago reminded us that the future of our movement is deeper than the struggles we know.

At the FIPCFM Regional Conference, Until We Are All Free showed up not just to represent Minnesota, but to help build what’s next alongside organizers from across the Midwest. For over a decade, we’ve rooted ourselves in local work. Now we’re carrying those lessons into a broader regional strategy grounded in collective economics, shared infrastructure, and the belief that our communities are stronger when we build together.

This isn’t about getting bigger. It’s about getting more connected.

We’re ushering our work from local to regional—building relationships, aligning strategy, and investing in the kind of collaboration that can outlast any one organization.

The Midwest is organizing. The region is rising. And we’re honored to help build what’s next.

We didn’t just attend the FICPFM Regional Conference—we showed up, listened deeply, learned deeply, and connected even deeper.

We left with stronger relationships, sharper analysis, and a clearer understanding that the future of our movements will be built region by region, community by community.

The next chapter is about infrastructure. It’s about ownership. It’s about investing in one another.

Collective economics isn’t separate from movement work—it is movement work.

Minnesota showed up. The Midwest showed out. And what’s coming next is even bigger.

Deeper regional work is on the way.

I close 2025 with gratitude, clarity, and a deep sense of grounding. Me and mine ended this year in abundance, preparation, and joy—reflecting on yet another season where we received more than we ever had. Not because everything was perfect, but because integrity stayed intact.

2025 was the year integrity paid its dividends.

Times are shifting. Old ways and new ways are competing for survival. The version of “success” we’ve been sold—the idea that personal excellence requires stepping over the collective—is poison. I’m leaving that behind. The old way of collective being is tried and true. It never disappeared. It’s been waiting on us to come back to ourselves.

Nothing in the universe exists alone.

I began this year as a MN Black Collective Foundation New Suns Fellow. Nothing is new under the sun—but there are new suns. This year taught me what happens when integrity comes full circle. I didn’t get everything right, but I stayed the course. I stuck to my guns. I didn’t fold.

And now, 2026.

None of us are getting free alone—and it’s time we stop pretending otherwise. 2026 is not about lone heroes or isolated wins. It’s about collective economics, collective being, collective community, collective movement, and collective organizations. The future belongs to those who move together. Anyone trying to hoard power, operate in isolation, or cut deals that cost the community isn’t just out of step—they’re in the way.

The collective isn’t sentimental. It’s strategic.
And in 2026, it’s the most logical move we can make.

Lesson carried forward:
The enemy has no loyalty. It does not respect or uplift anyone willing to sell out their own people for personal gain. Stop those back-room conversations with them people.

Integrity compounds.
Collective wins last.

First it was my cell.
Then it was the city.
Then it was the state.
And the galaxy is next.
