Promise Creative Arts Center

The Promise Creative Arts Center is designed to foster a sense of creativity for individuals with special needs, including the residents of Promise in Brevard, an independent living community for young adults with disabilities, as well as for the entire community. We began offering Mixed-Media Adult Art Classes in Summer 2018 to the general public covering a wide range of art mediums, from art journaling and gelli monoprinting to mixed-media canvas art. We believe that art breaks down social barriers and allows individuals of all abilities to express themselves in ways never thought possible. Our Art Zone studio features regular classes, as well as special events in which the community can take classes right alongside our Promise residents. We also offer a quiet classroom for participants with special needs as well as for one-on-one instruction. Our Killian Stark Gallery features for-sale pieces from local and consignment artists, as well as collaborative pieces made by our Promise residents. We were able to complete the construction build-out for our Creative Arts Center after winning $100,000 as part of the "A Community Thrives" grant, sponsored by USA Today and Florida Today and funded by The Gannett Foundation. Our Creative Arts Center patio, sponsored by Coastal & Cocoa Hyundai, will soon be available to rent out for private events.
