In summary, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine both argue that healthcare workers who are currently lactating should have equal access to the vaccine as non-lactating healthcare workers, and that weaning in order to receive the vaccine is unnecessary, as the benefits of the vaccine likely outweigh the risks, for both parent and nursing child.
